What happens when you flush with pH8 water?

I'm about to harvest soon and started flushing. A friend borrowed my ph-meter so I figured what the hell, I'll just flush them with pH8 (tapwater). Now the plants look like shit (which I don't care about, chopchop in a few days anyways) but maybe this is a bad idea?

Am I still flushing the nutes out of them or could this be a problem? Nasty smoke, or something?

Lol...you need to flush with the same ph'd water you would use to water them with. You're just creating nute lock-out.

Just put tap water in a open container and let it set for 24hours. Then use it.

tap water sucks, no offense but its got much chorline. stick ph stest kits are ok but get a ph up and down kit from general hydropontics

I use tap water, I let it sit in the open for 24 hours or more then ph test it. it's usually a tad high and I use some ph down.

Right guys, I do have a ph-meter and I do have ph up&dn, been watering with ph 6.5 from start however I don't have the ph meter with me so I'm askin if flushing with ph 8 tapwater will not remove nutes from the plants. I understand the plant cannot absorb nutes due to the lock out someone mentioned but does this still apply when flushing?

I know it's common to flush with ph'd water, but does anyone know for a fact if this is neccessary or are you just recommending it because it's "what people do"?

Thats why you let it sit for 24 hours. It gives time for the chlorine and other harmful chemicals time to evaporate. Research it, it works.

Flushing or even watering with an high ph water is going to remove nuts for sure but it's going to bring up your soil Ph and that's not a good thing.

yeah definitely use ph'd water, dont want to stress your plant

I know exactly how much ph down i need to use to get my ph right. I always test it though to be certain...but i'm always dead on 6.4.
