what happens when you wait too long to harvest?

Well the first pic I posted wasn't from that day. It was about three or four days old when I posted it, so I actually waited one week more. Here is a pic of the trichomes. It's a little blurry as I attached my little magnifier to my phone. You can see through it really well, but it doesn't take the best photos.

A few more pics of my harvest today. I'm happy with it. I don't try to grow the biggest plants. I try to time it so I have a plant or two finishing every weekend. I use fast varieties that finish in around six weeks. Soil with supplemental feedings once a week. I move them into SCROGs at a little over two feet tall in my flower room.

Couple more pics. Got some Bruce Banger getting close. Couple more weeks, I think. I made the mistake of putting it into a three gallon pot, thinking it would keep it a little smaller. Nope. It got big anyway. It's doing okay, tho. Just have to keep it watered a LOT. Smells like lemon. Got some OG Kush growing good in SCROG. Next to it is a white widow. That purple kush I harvested today smells amazing. Combination of diesel and new tennis shoe. LOL!

Look, guys, I'm no expert. I experiment a lot. Try different things. Make mistakes. But I have been doing this for several years, and I do a lot of reading and research, even if I don't have the time and money to implement everything perfectly. I try to grow a lot of smaller plants rather than big monster blue ribbon winners. I also try to get the stinkiest bud. That's what everyone seems to like. I prefer more of a head high myself. I don't like couch lock, so I harvest a bit sooner than others, I suppose. My favorite strain is Pineapple Express, nice giggly energetic high. Plus they finish in like 45 days. I'd like to talk to others who share my interest in this hobby, but I'm not taking any shit from know it all high schoolers who probably don't even grow. LOL! I'll share my mistakes, too. But if someone gets shitty with me I'm going to get shitty right back. I'd like to make some friends, but if your goal here is to degrade and run other people down you are useless to me.

For your next experiment leave one of your plants in for an extra month. Just one. You will see what everyone is trying to tell you.

So instead is taking one next time. Leave it until New Years.

I have a white widow I should harvest this weekend. I'll let it go an extra week. I don't really see the point tho. From what I've read, the longer you let it go after you start seeing amber trichomes, the more the THC degrades. Once you're cloudy with 10 percent trichomes, it's finished. Waiting any longer is just going to degrade your weed. Why is everyone insisting I let my weed degrade? What's the point?

I don’t know. Guess you’re right.

Letting it go an extra weeks is a waste. At least a month or don’t waste the time.

PS you’re talking about seeing amber on the leaves. They’re talking about it degrading when they’re on the bud. Two completely different topics.

Disclaimer this bud is NOT done. See the brown hairs on top? See the swelling? See all the white hairs still? It’s not done.

You make a lot of assumptions. I know you're supposed to ignore the leaves. I'm going to let a white widow go longer and see what happens. From my experience, the longer you let them go the more likely you are to get a herm. I had a purple kush herm once and it ruined two whole plants.

It'll be an interesting experiment. I'll take some pics of that white widow now and then once a week for a little while. Just to see. I'm not convinced there is any benefit other than letting all the THC turn into CBD. I'm game, tho.

I hate couch lock, and I really hate the feeling you get from CBN, but I don't even bother checking the trichs until after the buds swell. For most of the strains I've grown that's in the last two weeks or so.
I did have a Pineapple Express #2 that only took about 55 days to properly finish, but that strain is known to be done fast.
Some guys on here get carried away with trolling and insults, but there can be some good advice mixed in there. If you're only getting insults from someone, or they're too mean about it, that's what the ignore button is there for.
I really think you should take the advice @Wattzzup is giving you. Let a plant go longer. Hell start a thread where you tag some of the guys who are trying to give you advice, and in that thread grow a single plant with the plan of letting it go as long as they're saying. If it turns out to be the kind of weed you don't like give it to a friend.
But the only way you'll know for sure is to try it for yourself.

Edit: bunch of posts while I was typing. Glad you're going to let that WW go longer.
