What height do i attach my scrog net ?

Their is only 9 " from the top of the pot that im growing in to the light .

So at what height do i need to put my scrog net from between the top of my pot to my light ? 9 "

my light is a 150w hps .

my mesh netting is 1"

thats a neat little setup. what are temps in there? how many plants are you gonna do?

Man 9" is not enough room.....considering you put your net two inches above the plant, which is pushing it cause you need this space to keep pulling that plant back under the screen, hope you end up with 6" colas.....Is there any way maybe you can cut a hole in the top of your box to raise your light? I mean even six inches could help out ya know.

You really need to have the screen 9" above the dirt. Then you will have to keep raising your light as your shrubs grow.

Half the fun of a ScroG is training the branches, filling every square with bud sites. Then relentlessly trimming fan leaves. I started out with a 1" plastic grid but cut as many 2" openings as I could. 1" seems a bit small. But wtf do I know? I'm 2/3s of the way through my first grow.

My shrubs are in 5 gallon buckets and I expect at least 18-36 inches of growth above the screens.

im only growing 1 plant at a time , i need all the space i can get and i think 2 plants would be really pushing it

idk the temps yet , i haven't starting using it yet , im going out today to get some pc fans to put in an exhaust and intake

no , its pretty much attached to the top on eye bolts , also even if i could cut out holes to raise it more i do not have nothing that is over my cab to hang through it ,

ill show a pic of the top and shit

im thinking about flexing the the sides of the reflector up and maybe getting an extra 1/2 to an 1"

i was looking at the 2" mesh yesterday at lowes but it looked like it might be to big so i got the 1" plastic mesh instead , but like you said if need be i can cut out some 2" .


The pic on the right is the top of the cab ,

i have 4 eye bolts in case of wanting to hang my light parallel instead of front to back .

you might want to consider losing the reflector all together. looks like a small enough box that the mylar should reflect enough light without it. I would also consider choosing a smaller bin for nutrient as that will free up some room as well as root binding your plant a little to keep it small. But if there is any possible way for you to get a bigger box I would do that. I also realize that you want to do scrog to maximize yield however I would just use the LST method with no net as you can achieve close to the same result without it. Hope this helps.

Not to start another argument, but I disagree with the relentlessly trimming fan leaves part. I trim only what's necessary to keep the small fan I put under the scrog free of leaves, and the occasional large leaf that's sticking up too close to the light or blocking a lot of light from lower colas.

I've found that the leaves that need to be removed due to lack of light beneath the canopy, they'll start to die themselves and then I take them. Growing from seed I don't end up removing a whole lot of leaves, but on the second generation from clones I end up taking out a shitload due to the denser canopy.

BTW, 9 inches from pot to light is not a lot of room. In my 150HPS scrog, I have around twice that, and start off with around 10-11 inches between the light and the screen. That space fills up pretty quickly and I end up tying back a lot of colas to keep them from hitting the light.

On the good side, I've filled the space with colas and the amount of light is definitely the limiting factor (meaning that the colas at the optimal distance from the light are doing great, but the stuff deeper down will not do as well). Next gen I'm gonna try a 250W cooltube, for deeper light penetration through the canopy and not to have to worry so much about plants growing into the light.

post pics in the attachment manager section of your reply board, or just add them t an album on your personal page, t8's should work well

you need more than 9 inches. period, Colas's that pass through screen will grow 6"or more alone and light's distance will need consideration especially if hood isn't air cooled
