What is a good ratio to "cut" FFOF soil and perlite?

I want to add in perlite, (as well as any other amendments you guys recommend) to my soil..I'm typically using sunshine organic mix, but am looking to bump up my yields in soil, so went back to FFOF soil to get more robust yields...A friend of mine says he's getting forearm sized main colas after cutting his soil (Happy Frog,) with perlite, vermiculite, and peatmoss...He's even adding a small amount of lime lol..I get decent amounts usually an ounce per plant under 2 400w HPS..I'm in 2 gallon square pots, and wanted to know specifically how much amending I should try with perlite? 1/2 a cup per pot? etc,. Thanks in advance...Happy Growing

My mix was about

60% Ocean forest
30% Burpee Coir seed starting mix
10% Worm castings
2 tablespoon dolomite lime
threw some azomite in too.

I had less problems and seems like its feeding longer with less nutrient lockouts by cutting it with seed starter mix than using it strait up. I think coir is better than adding more perlite.

Add dolomite for sure.

i;d love to try coco, but i'm too scurred and am happy with ffof for the most part.. i hear coco grows much quicker, but then i would have to learn something new, and you know how that goes..

i'd really like to try dwc, but things like pumps and coolers and water make me nervous.. more power, plus more noise, plus more shit to learn and more shit to go wrong. idk..
decisions decisiouns, payday.. lawyers salary please.. :D
