What is flushing and what is it meant for?.

I checked the GrowFAQ and Google but I did not find anything. When people say try flushing your plants, What does it mean and what is it used for.

there are two kinds of flushing practices.

the first kind is in the event of the buildup of nutrient salts in the soil and just means water the plant heavily and let the excess run off.

the second kind of flushing is done at the end of a grow to wash out nutrients from the plant itself and just means water as usual but without any nutes at all for the last week or two of the grow.

both kinds of flushing is to remove nute buildup.
