What is going on??? discoloration/chlorosis

Chlorine is very bad for plants.
Smokeybandit gave you good advice.
Projectinfo is an idiot as is anyone else that states that chlorine is ok for weed:-P
 
so...

just flush and continue with regular dose? I'm honestly not even sure anymore. Some tips look (nute) burnt, but the other symptoms are clearly that of certain deficiencies.

I'm gonna go with YOUR diagnosis, smokeybandit! it just makes more sense and is consistent with the knowledge i've tried to collect from here and other sources.

Yeah, I can't imagine chlorine being OK for anything LOL!

I let the water sit 24 hours before, and I know that Swiss tap water is perhaps the least contaminated in the world (according to Arjan).

DING! DING! DING! Thats exactly right! Get a ph and tds meter and do a run-off test. Those results will give you a place to start. Otherwise you're just gonna be guessing at what the cause of the problem is. Hell, it looks like it could even be light bleaching to me. Ph can also make leaves contort and can block the uptake of nutes. Fortunately for you, I would be willing to bet that this plant will be fine just fine regardless of how bad it looks. I am at the tail end of a grow in which I experimented with folair spraying and some new nutes. Sad to say I went overboard and some of em look like they lost a fight with agent orange. Even though the plants got really ugly they still produced big crystal covered buds. Never seen such nice buds on such ugly plants in my life!

Well I've got an electronic pH meter and test (and adjust) the ph of the water/nutes every time... I'm pretty anal about it :-P I even tested the runoff's pH once after feeding and it was fine.

but in all honesty i neglected the importance of a TDS/PPM meter since I'm not doing hydro... will try to get my hands on tester tomorrow.
 
thanks for the support guys. glad to see ppl come out when someone writes something stupid. chlorine is used as a decontaminate in water supply. plants do need some but nothing that is toxic. it will def burn your leaf tips if too concentrated.
I agree too that they will grow out of it and be fine but really needs to be addressd to maximize yields and prepare you for the next grow
 
Thanks guys, unfortunately i'm not yet at a level where I can distinguish good info from BS. But with your help I'm getting there :)

It's true that this doesn't look life threatening (yet) but I mean the whole point of this 1st grow more than anything else is to learn. So in a weird way i'm glad that this happened. It also shows how different strains (though with related genetics) can have such different demands.
 
The main problem with chlorine is that it causes slow growth and brittle stems and leaves.
If you consistently feed your plants with unbreathed water or water that has liquid chlorine in it without using a fish dechlorinate(liquid chlor does not evaporate)your plants will be shit.

Some big city's only use liquid chlorine so you will need to actually find out what they use where you live or smell your water.
If you can still smell chlorine after 48 hours then you know that your area uses liquid chlorine and then you will have to use a dechlorinate to remove it.
If the smell is gone within 24-48 hours then your area only uses chlorine gas:weed:

I know chlorine is poison, but in all honesty I don't think that's a problem here. Local (Swiss) tap water has one of the lowest EC in the world. Often purer than a lot of fancy bottled water brands. I've been in the US and I know that there is a BIG difference in water quality.

But from the comments posted here, i decided to play it safe and let the water sit out 24 hours before using.
 
So i just got around to flushing the NLX (left the Bubblegums alone) until the runoff was just water. But I gotta say, it was interesting to see just how much brownness there was at the start of the runoffs. Almost looked like iced tea! That's got to do some good for 'em.

Followed up by feeding them their regular dose of nutes.

Will update If I see any differemce...
