What is SOG and SCROG?

I have just grown my 1st crop and 1st of all it took way too long, and the buds got so big that the branches all fell over. we had 24 plants that we are harvesting on Friday. I'm sure the yield is going to be enormous, but it should have been a lot more if the branches had not fallen over from the weight of the buds.
We hung up nets at 2 different heights for the next crop going into flower.
I keep seeing all these shorter plants and shorter grow times. We started with clones of White Widow and went 18 weeks total from start to finish, not including the curing.
I know that there are a lot of questions, but please help if you can.
I forgot, we used some stuff that we introduced the 4th week of flowering until the end called Gravity, and Snow Storm Ultra, and that was supposed to make the buds huge, which I guess it did? Has anyone else tried this stuff?
The height is really a problem in the veg room. I have to trim them daily to keep them from hitting a bottom of a table or the ceiling because we have 2 levels, HELP?:wall::leaf::leaf::leaf:

SOG is Sea Of Green and
SCROG is SCReen of Green

You can look up many grows done here.

Sounds like you need to look into LST (Low Stress Training) to keep the plants lower in height.

SoG, Sea of Green. The practice of growing a LOT of small plants quickly packed close together.

SCroG. Screen of Green. Similar principle to SoG in that you have what looks like a Sea of Green buds at a uniform level. The difference is it uses less plants that are grown larger and have the branches trained to grow under a screen so it spreads at a uniform level.

SOG (Sea Of Green) uses the ideology of lots of smaller plants to produce lots of bud in a shorter amount of time. This requires the mother plant to produce lots of clones on a typically weekly or bi-weekly schedule. The idea is to stagger the planting of clones so that you have a fresh yield every week or two. Introduce clones at the time of harvest to maintain a perpetual cycle.

SCROG (SCReen Of Green) uses a fence/screen perpendicular to the height of the plant to help the plant to grow horizontally as opposed to vertically. End results include bushier plants that you can flower slightly sooner.

Bending/breaking branches because of massive colas leads me to believe your room could use a more violent atmosphere. Put in a couple of fans to simulate wind in the wild, the plants will be forced to beef up their stems to cope with the turbulance. You can turn off the fans during flowering.
