What is tea?

Hey all,

I haven't been able find a definition for "tea." I understand it to be some sort of concoction with a bunch of stuff, which is brewed and ultimately watered to the plant. I even saw a gigantic "tea pot" at a grow store. Nevertheless, I've never found a definition, explanation, recipe, or any other info on what a tea is. I did, by the way, search the terminology thread stickied at the top of the list, but I didn't find it there either.

Any pointers or links would be appreciated!

Tea is made using organic matter such as guanos , worm castings and molasses to name just a few ingredients .. Many people brew there own special blends and bubbles are a must !

Go to the organic forum. There is a lot of information on actively aerated compost tea (AACT). I use it and love it.

Teas are usually organic nutes / compost etc ( Usually containing sea weed, guano, oyster shell etc )

They are sold as a liquid or a powder .

Most grow store sell them.

Teas are usually used as a weak solution during " plain watering " for supplemental nutes. They are mostly used by organic growers.

If your using a 3 part ( or more ) fertilizer then you probably have no use for it.

It does work during veg though....

Thanks all. I wasn't quite sure where to even begin reading to understand the concept (I'm still that new, so a long way from actually brewing, I'm sure). As I'm sure you can imagine, googling "tea" or "what is tea" wasn't super helpful.

Y'all rock!
