What is the best lighting cycle? Im under the impression that I should give it 24 hr light until it gets big enough, then cut it to 12 hour cycles. Is that right?

Some one let me know plz!!

THanks

if you have the cash you can leave them on 24/0 the entire veg cycle, more light equals more plant, but the traditional way to go is the way they stated above. 24/0 - seedling then 18/6 Veg- 12/12 - Flowering

I'm currently trying the 24/0 in veg, seems to be working great.

Indoor grow, right?

60 days of veg is gonna give you a pretty big plant. If you have the space and good quality lighting, then no problem. If you're growing with cfl's, you'll probably want to veg them for a lot less than 60 days. :peace:

The only reason to do 18/6 in veg is if you can't control your temps without the cooldown period. Otherwise, it just makes your plants grow more slowly.

I've been following several light schedule threads and there's one question I've yet to come across... When you move from an 18/6 to a 12/12 (or any other schedule movement for that matter), do you make the move all at once or gradually add an hour every so often until you're there? Say, add an hour on the front end and the back end of your current schedule each day for three days to get your six additional hours or perhaps 30min on the front and the back each day over a six day period? Only reason I ask is... That just looks like what would come the closest to how it's done in nature.

Im currently using 18/6 for seedlings and they are doing fine. I'm sure i read some where that 18/6 is better for root production....but i might be wrong.

You switch over to 12/12 in one go not staged.
