What is the best portable herb/concentrate vaporizer on the market today?

Hi everyone,

I am looking into buying a vaporizer. It has to be portable, and compatible with both herb and oil. I don't mind spending a lot on it, as long as it works well and last me a long time. Persei looks good, especially with the lifetime warranty. But I will need to wait to get the herb vaporizing add-on (which will add to the already high price). Does anyone have experience with this vaporizer? Is it worth the money? Does it hit well? How is the customer service?

The shipping costs to Europe are ridiculously high, so I would rather get something from a European brand. However, I have not found anything that compares with the Persei. Can anyone suggest other options?

Last summer i purchased the Pax by ploom, and it works like a charm...

10 year warranty no questions asked, i dropped it some shit, they replaced it ..

Battery last a while, and i save a lot bud, i could get like 25 good tokes from less than a gram, shit like .50 of a gram and is much more efficient in delivering a powerful high than a 1 gram joint, very nice imo, but its the only one i ever used.

Its quality.

I looked at Ploom's website, and it's definitely something I would buy. But they don't ship to Europe, so, unfortunately I can't get it... Could get micro vaped for oils...I'd rather have one device for both if I can, though.

You can get a different attachment for regular bud. Or if you powderized your weed before hand you could probably toss it in the nail and smoke it like a hash. it just wouldnt be as potent.

You should avoid the ecig based "vape pens" like the microvaped and similar, as the red hot nichrome coil they use is far above the combustion temp, meaning that they don't actually vaporize, but rather burn. Burned oil is a lot smoother than burned herb, but its a long sight from true vapor. Avoid anything red hot that is meant to touch your oil or bud, like nails, hot knives, skillets, and ecigs, as they invariably burn it. Unfortunately, nothing portable and electric exists on the market that doesn't scorch, though the davinci comes close, still scorches but at least ddoesn't directly place your concentrate on a red hot coil. Your best bet, if you want a clean glass on glass no scorch vaping method for concentrates is a concentrate bowl and wand, or a fritted disc for your bowl, and a pocket torch. For portable herb vapes, davinci is ok as is atmos and wispr, but I find a fritted disc for my bowl rips bigger and smoother clouds than any other herb vaping method. AVOID ATMOS I ordered a atmos optimus and seperate atmos nail. The optimus attachment don't work well to begin with at all and after a month was non-functional the Atmos nail worked okay and lasted about 2 months until the battery gave out. I was highly disappointed and the "customer service" never returned my e-mail.

The da vinci works very nice. It has two oil cans also, one for wax and hash and one with a wick for oils. I've been using mine daily though I haven't tried the concentrates yet. I have other toys for those. The atmos mentioned earlier is junk. I've found most of those pen " vapes " to be junk . They burn, but they don't vape. Th atmos pen isgreat for hash though. And the g-pens are okay for wax unless you smoke as much as I do, then they're just a sticky mess.
The downside to the da vinci is the battery goes fast, but you can use it plugged in while chargeing. Its the best portable imo.

Which attachment do they have for dry herb?

that is the "rub" with most [all?] portables. The pen types are primarily for oil/wax [and IF you can get an herb attachment--are "clunky" as all get out] and and the ones for herb don't work too well for concentrates.. The Pax is good for herb/hash.
I have a Solo...it is OK, but doesn't give a large volume hit, like the Pax. My home unit is an SSV...the Pax is almost as good...Solo is kinda a wimp, but works.

Just did a lot of research and watched some reviews and ended up buying a Davinci Ascent an hour ago. Had to buy myself a post harvest, early Xmas present. Hope it's all it's hyped up to be. I'm personally looking forward to the tastes people claim to get from vapeing. Also joints are getting pretty hard on my lungs.

Last time I checked the MiniVap was the best portable on the market with a price tag to match It's made in Spain. I'm not sure how it goes with oil though.

I've mixed shatter or w/e in with ground flower in my Pax. Gets it kinda dirty and you gotta replace the screen more often but fucks me up pretty good. If i was using it just for flower I'd have to pack it too much to get high. I plan to use it as a hand warmer when we go skiing, lol.

Its scheduled to arrive this Tues. Ill post my opinions. I've also learned about using glass flowers with vaporizers so I ordered some of those also.
