What is the best possible way to grow?

I had three plants, everyone was a male :(
They didnt do to well, lots of dead leaves. I was just wondering what is better to put the plants in a 5 gal bucket with rocks at the bottom,
or hydroponic I think thats the word. Where the roots just sit in a tube of water. I need to grow these suckers fast, what is the best way.

Hydro growth rates can be faster if all the conditions are right. Hydro is not for noobs looking for fast bud. The plant will MATURE just as fast in soil or hydro. Maturity determines when flowering can begin. Hydro is very complex. Soil is easier and results can be great too............

I have grown both ways and I like the simplicity of soil. I have had my hydro crop grow like crazy for 6 weeks and look great with no problems evident then BAM - 3 days later dead as hell. Root bound from accellerated growth. I guess I could have (or should have) trimmed my roots. Who knew?? Hydro is very complex and a whole different world. Oh, and WAY more expensive for nutes and all the gadgets and stuff.

It seems as if you need to do a lot of research first. The problem I see that is your going too fast. First the plant will only grow so fast, but then certain conditions must be met. This hobby is not something you jump into and expect exceptional results, it takes time. As you become experienced the speed at which the plants grow will come naturally. Take your time. If your looking to make a quick buck growing for the first time, forget it. You are going to end up being in the hole, your going to spend more than what your results will be. This is a long term hobby, its not going to happen over night. I would suggest growing soil the first few times until you learn a few things. Nothing against hydro, although I dont ever see myself doing hydro but as stated, it is more complicated. So, in a nutshell the fastest way to grow a plant is experience. It takes a commitment to do this right, but there is no single answer as to what is the best way, the best way is what works for you.

Well damn I wish someone would ahev told me this before, like you did straight up. Before I went out and spent all the money to buy the supplies. I spent a good hunk of change, O well you live and you learn I guess.

you obviosly are a noob...so hydro might be a lil muich for you rite now..I REALLY reccomend using a mix of coco coir/perlite 75:25....water EVERY day with a nutrient soultuipn of ph'ed A.N monkey juice....its a coir nutrient,cus using some normal nutrients will cause a mg deficiency...also look into SUPERTHRIVE..it really does work!!

then during flower,use monkey juice BLOOM....with budblood in the 1 week...big bud in the 2-4 weeks..then finish with OVERDRIVE 4-8 weeks..also u should use FINAL FLUISH to remove the nutrients ALOT quicker..it really makes flushing alot faster and easier...

all these r advanced nutrients,and are more expenisve..but give the best yield!use mollases during the entire flowering time.....and do SOG style..imagine 15g colas....but more than 16 of them under a single light!!!you do the math!

You gotta ask first before someone can tell you, otherwise how will people know to tell you?

rkm is 100% correct. I learnt the hard way I spent approx £2000 on my entire setup and failed 4 times on hydro simply because I rushed it. Ive now began in soil & so far so good. Understand that I am the ultimate noob & the best advice I can give you is take it one step at a time, if a certain something doesnt work as well as you had anticipated try it another way & eventually you will succeed.

If you have any questions (even obvious ones) dont be afraid to ask the community at RIU are very friendly just avoid the haters yes they're here too.
