What is the cause of this?

Surely looks like something has been munching on those leaves. If there was no die off previous to this happening, it almost has to be something eating it.

and it all happened in like one day.. plus there's a whole big leaf missing wich is not on pic.. what kind of bug can eat that much in such short time?

It's not on the ground. And yes i have few cats, but i don't think they can get near from where the plant is.

i agree, that looks like cat damage. To large for a catepillar, (in my opinion). Cats love the smell of gonj, and are attracted to it like cat nip (some cats).
