The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide. It is a network of networks[1] that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope, linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies. The Internet carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents and applications of the World Wide Web (WWW), electronic mail, telephony, and peer-to-peer networks for file sharing.

It is a thing that keeps you from interacting with people in a normal way and also prevents you from achieving anything of importance because of all the cat pictures.

It is also an excellent way for some people to accumulate obscene amounts of wealthy from products and services that a nobody really needs.

Does anyone remember bulletin boards? You could basically set up your own hub and give access to others of your data. You would direct the modem to dial into their phone line the computer would connect and you could download fillies. Memory is a bit sketchy but you could find them in computer shopper magazine like early 90s. Maybe 80s. I dunno exactly.
