What is the Most Extreme Thing You've Ever Seen?

lol good work guys, this is exactly how I expected this thread to turn out!

It would suck being an EMT akgrown, I have a buddy who works for the fire dept. does the clean ups and stuff on the highway whenever there's an accident, and another friend whose dad used to be the fire chief so he's seen some extreme shit! I remember him telling me about some of the accidents a few times, like how he was casually walking around after an accident and he looks down to see just a human leg.. lol, RANDOM!

What's your guys' take on viewing this kind of stuff? What are the positive and negative aspects that you think it could do to you mentally? I'm sure none of our mothers would support our viewing of this material... Personally I never get any kind of gratification out of seeing it, and to be honest a lot of times I click the 'x' box to avoid the grizzliest of the grizzly, but I think there's definitely something there that one could get value out of. Seeing this stuff is definitely not a waste, makes you stronger. Anybody agree on that point? Just curious...

This is one of the craziest animal clips I could find! Bet this guy had to change his drawers after this incident!

You think that guy was scared?
THIS guy had something to worry about.

Aaah, thank you for answering! That's exactly what I was getting at, and what I've heard myself a few times. But does it? Really?

I can really only use myself as an example but I disagree completely with that conclusion. I watch these clips and see the reality of what people are capable of and it leads me to wonder and think about why people could do some of these insane things, what people are thinking, how they got from a simple concept in their head to actually going through with something like this - http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/45936/ (not TOO extreme for the weaker viewers!). And that leads me to think about the reasons to avoid such concepts and analyze their faults that obviously exist, and expose them. Hence so many of my own threads on the subjects.

Why do you think it dehumanizes people?

becuase it desensetizes people to these acts, like how the kids who play violent video games will have no problem pulling the trigger in real life whilst soldiers from ww1 and ww2 purposly missed or just couldnt fire, on a subconscious level seeing these acts or doing them artificially makes your mind think its ok.

plus when lil kids see it it stays in, if a kid gets raped, chances are he will rape kids when hes older, if a kid sees someone get killed, hes more likely to kill in later life.

I played violent video games growing up, Doom when I had a Nintendo64 was one of my favorites. All throughout my teen years as well. And like I said, I've been viewing pretty extreme content on the internet for a few years, I don't think any of that stuff is OK.

What would you say about that?

does doom acuratly present a convincing 3d world, not really, does mw2, does gta 4, do most of the latest shooters, mostly yh, the more realistic the graphics are, the easier it is to absorb the data as if it were real, a highly pixelated thingy from doom doesnt really look real, id know coz ive never played it lol and ps1 graphics were shit so dooms graphics mustve been terrible.

there have been studys of people playing violent games, the brain starts realeasing endorphins and in a young mind violence gets associated with endorphins so violence = pleasure

the most extreme thing i saw was from a link on here. Some guy posted a link to a video of some russians pulling a guy from the street into woods and beating him to death with hammers and stuff. it was so sick, and it was very clear and went on for a while. I thought that was so extreme and nasty.
its called 3 guys 1 hammer

its easy one of the worst videos on the internet

I'm not talkin' about the OG Doom, that was pretty bad, the Nintendo64 version was much better. Anyway, the point is the same though, I could tell as a kid that it was just a video game, I don't think that's where the problem lies. Every kid who plays violent video games doesn't become a killer. Same with tv, books, or any other media. There's Supreme Court cases detailing this better than I could.

I'm just talking from personal experience though really, every time I see one of these videos it makes me appreciate not having gone through that (what is being depicted on screen) much more. Or if it's like a human rights violation or something, it pisses me off and gets me involved, if nothing on but a mental level..

yes you would be able to tell it was just a game, how about a mentally unstable kid like this guy:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-446318/Boy-skunk-cannabis-butchered-grandmother.html
if you keep telling someone thier fat, they will believe it.
if you get someone to believe raping people isnt wrong, there a higher chance theyl do it.
if you get people to believe that violence is ok, there is a higher chance theyl be violent

why?
bcoz they think its o.k

This is a quote from a rockstar developer.
Our games are not designed for young people. If you’re a parent and buy one of our games for your child you’re a terrible parent. We design games for adults because we’re adults. [BBC via Kotaku]
That is noones fault but the parents. It's there job to make sure there dumbass kid doesn't go on a shooting spree.

Alright, but consider what you're actually saying. If people believe it's OK, they'll be more likely to commit it. That is a point that's agreeable - if I honestly believed, deep down, that stealing was OK, there was nothing wrong with it, then yes, I would agree, I would be more likely to steal things than a person who see's stealing as wrong. But what makes you believe video games, or any media really, is promoting the idea 'this stuff is OK'? It would seem to me that even the administrators of the websites that host these videos are pretty much of the same opinion as me - The shit is wrong and there is no point in trying to hide it, which is why we show it. Censorship doesn't mean it doesn't happen. - none of them support the idea that the actions people in the videos or the people who create them are committing morally acceptable acts, or behaving morally in any way, on the contrary. They show them to advocate against such behavior, against such acts.

That's what I get out of it anyway.

For example, Berg's beheading video - after viewing that, it makes me question the tenants of Islam that could lead a person, a grown person with the same ability that I have to think critically and empathetically about his fellow man to do such a thing. What is it within Islam that could do that to someones mind? Hate someone, someone they'd never even known, an enemy without a face, simply known as an "infidel" so much to saw his head OFF! That's I N S A N I T Y ! ! !

2 girls 1 cup was for the shock value! And holy shit did that work, that will be published in books and papers about popular culture for our kids to read about. Mission accomplished.

Ever play GTA IV? It's the same guy who plays the voice of Laslo on the radio. He's actually one of the producers.

2 girls 1 cup was fake, BTW. It wasn't actually shit.

They gave the girls enemas, then shoved chocolate pudding up there asses, which is wrong on a totally different level.
