im currently using a blue lab i used the green oakton for a long time before it went south the hannah gave me problems almost from the start I haven't had the blue lab long enough to form an opinion I have a friend that has a more expensive Hannah that works good for him but all In all I would of bought another oakton but didn't want to go 50+ miles to get it any how I would like to hear from others & what they may be usingimage.jpeg

those little drops you place and shake . works best for me. every digital meter never had any luck . the numbers vary all over the place . but I never bought ones that cost 100 yet. and if so I would drop it after my first use . I have bad luck with any meter . not saying they are bad many people use them with great success .

I'd love to hear some opinions on this, too. I trust the reagent test drops 100% but I think I'd be more diligent in keeping an eye on ph if I had a meter. That said, because I have never had major problems or fluctuations and probably don't need to test that much, and am just a hobbyist, I definitely won't be dropping a whole bunch of money on a meter. But if there is a great option out there (especially a cheap one), let's hear about it, and even the ones to avoid.

I have a Hanna, does Ph, water temp and it's easy to calibrate. I used drops for awhile and I keep them for emergencies but I wouldn't go back by choice. Apples and oranges.

I own the bluelab digital ph meter and its far better than my last one which was the trident. Overall id say a solid peice of kit and using the KCL (Potassium Chloride) for storage, cleaning, hydrating the probe and calibiration has kept it sweet. For the price i think its well worth it and a popular peice of kit. They do two different packages, one is just the basic meter and the other comes with the KCL solution and calibiration solutions/ph 4 and ph 10 whuch if you dont already have would be the one i'd get :-)

HM Digital ppm & HM Digital pH testers. Got both for about $100 or so. Both can be calibrated very easily & both are equipped with temperature readings as well. Good bang for the buck. Been using both almost daily for over a year now on the stock batteries and a handful of calibrations. I have zero complaints.
