I live in Kentucky, and I don't feel like I have an accent until I here myself on a voicemail. Then I realize that I have a serious country accent, and I hate it. I'm not a backwoods kentuckyboy though. Lol! I live near Louisville.

Has anyone else noticed how a lot of people base a persons intelligence by their accent? Not talking junk about northerners, but I have noticed that a lot of them as soon as they hear a southern accent. They automatically assume ignorance or inbreeding.

it's funny you say that because sometimes when people hear my "boston" accent they assume i'm guttertrash. people who grew up around here but talk like they didn't look down on people who talk like i do. it's a "low class" way to speak to a lot of people. i look down on them because they're pretentious twats. when they have a few drinks in them they sound just like me. fucking phoney twats. i have a friend like that and he sounds like a foreigner doing a bad american accent. it makes me cringe. he's a good dude, though. but fuck his corny dialect that he invented.
