I agree with above ... thrips from the picture try to get one under a microscope out your loupe for a positive identification .... I've used " guard n aid thrip " it works it's just a soap that you spray on your plants two or theee times

Not thrips , definitely not , I have thrips.

You'd have seen pale to custard yellow youngling too if thrips , they're ,not adult thrips , far too large far too obvious, some other kind of more beetle like leaf feeder.

Look at pictures of adult thrips , this is not them.

Apart from this I'm totally unsure , very beetle like

I see what you mean but the leaves definitely have thrip damage. They could be a bigger species of thrip tho. I also had the tiny custard yellow ones that you mentioned. Those are definitely not the same but the damage is very similar.

potato flea beetles, maybe? I was going to say thrips, too, at first....I would need to see a closer closeup to be sure.

Aye I could be totally wrong and could be a certain type of thrip I have , from what I understand and have seen they are very un thrip like adults ( at least compared to mine )

Actually I just clocked a yellow custard larvae in the pics as well , looks EXACTLY like thrip larva.

Could indeed be them.

Sorry not an expert here.

I gave mine good soak of nematodes with their regular feed and spread diamataceous earth alll on the soil and floor ( the day after watering ).

Reluctant do to anything in flower, I've had mine since 2 weeks veg , sprayed the shit out of them then with smc spider mite control , they've been there all along and I can only see them starting to cause worrying damage in week 8 flower , just starting so looks like I got off lightly.

They do have the custard yellow young kings I could take some pictures later I’m pretty sure these are thrips im in the south if it matters

Ah I see them I replied to samwise a few above.

Almost definitely some type of thrip I guess , I'm in the UK so we pr8bs have totally different species , the young ones look exactly the same.

A small load isn't a problem , mid to late flower unlikely to ruin them unless a huge infestation. They go for the leaves only AFAIK and thankfully not fruits or flowers themselves. I got a light load so seem to have gotten away with it , over time and enough from an early stage they could defo cause damage.

Pyrethrin bombs as a last nuclear option ( not permethrin its synthetic ) diamatecous earth , nematodes ( thrips have a soil life stage ) neem oil , spray and soil. Predator bugs , lady bugs , pirate etc , even predatory mites you can get.

Damned if I know where I got em , gonna set off a Pyrethrin aersol and bleach clean fir next grow

Does anyone know anything about permethrin based poison during flowering, sounds ominous lol?
Smoke bombs (permethrin) are highly effective but when I used them ages back info was difficult to find so I used one 3 days appart x3 since then I've read permethrin also kills the eggs so maybe one is enough..
If it's safe I mean?

Burning sulphur is used by some people in flowering to control pests its been used forever as an insect killer, it doesn't require anything fancy just a heat source and sulphur it's maybe worth checking our my experience with pests is only limited to vegging (touches wood) good luck!!

It will not be enough, the life cycle is 14 with 3-5 for eggs to hatch. You have to do four treatments about 7 days apart to complete the cycle fully. I have had this issue from contaminated soil(I do not take clones). Earths Ally soap worked. Was fortunate not be in flower when this event occurred. Good luck.
