I plan on growing 2 autoflower plants. I will be using fox farm ocean forest soil. I will be growing them in 3 gallon pots. I will also be scrogging them. I was wanting to know out of these 2 choices. What light would be better, a 150w hps light or a T5 light? What size T5 light? Any comments?

150 hps and there really isn't a point in scrogging autos. It would make more sense to lst them. Good luck on your grow.

Nothing compares to hps...flouros for veg if you want..I agree lst, its not enough veg time to take full advantage of a scrog...honestly id suggest against the autos in the first place..

The reason for the question is, I can get a 150w hps light for 65.00 with free shipping.
Yea I understand.. I was referring to what biowheel was talking about. LED's are expensive and are comparable to cfls.
Did you know that you can get a 400w for like 40 dollars more?

shoot i got my 600w for like 130 when it was on sale, go big baby, cover every spare square foot of your house with plants

yes I seen that. I am just doing a small cabinet grow, nothing huge. If the 150w hps will work for 2 autos and save on the electric bill, thats all good for me.

Yes - LED's not for everyone. I admit I have money and not an issue. That said - I love my setup. Very little heat - and I mean almost none. It's just so damn stealth with LED's I'm just a bit overwhelmed on how far technology has come. It's frickin AWESOME!!

I wasn't ragging on your setup or anything. I was just offering help on what would make more sense on a budget. Everyone ends up finding what they like and I'm cool with any setup and long as the plants are cared for.

OP remember that no amount of light will matter if you don't have proper ventilation.

These cheap Chinese hps ballasts are highly inferior...i would befriend a local hydro shop owner and get a decent deal on some quality equipment in the future and a larger space and photoperiod beans...but for what you're trying to do here just stock with the cfls you won't pull more than an ounce anyway most likely so no reason for the hid..and a 150 is not going to be useful in the future if you go bigger..just wait on the light get a practice grow in and buy a nicer one when you can go bigger..my opinion
