what makes quality weed when you're growing?

Word TWS gotcha.....btw I use maxsea as well....but my original sentiment still stands....good genetics is more than half the battle imho and experience....if you grow seeds from a bag of schwag under perfect growing conditions you can expect perfectly grown and nurtured schwag....freak pheno's do happen though like Thin Mint and what not but if I grow a clone only GSC horribly and it barely makes it to harvest it will still be waaaay danker than schwag grown with the best care and nutes.

lots of light, waiting long enough before harvest and a good flush, slow drying, the right strain for you growing conditions 'grow room space height"

There is a lot of ways to make your marijuana posses more quality, but if you want quality for many years, growers need to start recording data daily. By doing this you can make adjustments and know what happens when you top your plant after a certain node. All this needs to be factored in when thinking about quality weed. When growers realize this strategy, I promise THC levels will start sky rocketing !!!!!!!!

BINGO Right there!....... The single biggest mistake I see rookies make, year after year, is harvest too damn early. I've seen some beautiful plants of killer strains that were harvested prematurely, turned into mids. A few more weeks and they would have been fire. Let them go until your absolutely positively sure, without a doubt sure.......and then wait 1 more week........trust me on this...................................btw.. I swear by Maxsea also.........

THC levels are determined by genetics, not fert's or topping.

recording data does not make thc levels skyrocket......Uncle Ben lets you know what happens at certain nodes no need to record that just look for his topping guide here.

Oh yeah proper drying and curing as said before........grew next door to this dude from Jersey once he knew EVERYTHING......so when he wet trimmed and put that shit straight in mason jars to cure it didn't fair too well for him lol.

Okay i could understand why you say that. I wasnt talking about ferts and topping in general. Im talking about growers forming a strategy of recording data like topping, ferts, etc year after year.... harvest after harvest :weed: Only then you can know how you got your plant to look like this or that

I suppose keeping notes to perfect the same strain and same pheno would optimize the possibilities in a genetic line.

^^^^^^
This - I have a couple of mothers of pheno's I can't let go & since I'm a S/S guy the stuff is really, really easy plus I can read new/old growth & figure out what's going on.
I've kept journals & tbh they just collect dust.

My answer is to pay attention to the plants - exempting clones, they are all different.

Not disagreeing with genetics as the plants/seeds need to come from a decent line. BUT maximizing the potential of whatever you've grown comes down picking it at the right time for the type of stone you like (earlier/cloudy trichs for max THC/head-stone vs later/amber trichs for more of a body stone) in combination with proper, slow drying and curing. It's a world of difference in the same strain. No question about it, I've grown outdoor for years that beats indoor hands down including the exact same genetics (clones from the same mother) and it turned out much better than anything a buddy grew/grows for profit/$ because he picks by the size of the buds/plants vs trichs, nor spends the time to dry and cure properly. It's like smoking two completely different strains. I've proven it to him over and over again, and he still continues with his ridiculous methods &^%!
Wrong. Clear means no thc. Good luck with that.
I used to believe in the "absolutes" quoted above. Today, I know better. My current unknown clone has clear trichs and will knock your socks off. It doesn't get better with age, either. Ultimately, it is best to think of trichomes as tiny chemical factories of which we know very little about. Sometimes the "clear, cloudy, amber" idea applies, but not always. Also, plenty of weed with beautiful trichomes isn't worth a damn. Some strains are better outdoors, some indoors.

Not true - there are several reasons a couple of seeds might show up in a bag of good weed.
I had a White widow that decided to herm a bit late in flower & she gifted me with a small amount of freebie fem'd seeds that are fantastic.
In this case it is ~ Bag-seed = Great genetics !
actually not true. those seeds came from a hermie offspring even though it was late in flower, it'll still pass on the hermie tendency and this time it will hermie much faster and more earlier into the flowering stage.
