What nutrients can I use on a very low budget?

i just stated growing and Im feeding only water. Is only water enough or do i need to add nutrients and if so, what should i use on a veryvery little budget? thank you for any help!

No, it's good that you did your homework otherwise you'd have gone and wasted your money on food. Plants only need water, the idea of them needing nutrients is the biggest scam of the past however many thousand years. Even nature has fallen for it!

I did my first grow with only water and blackstrap molasses. Pulled a pretty decent yield off of 2 plants.

With the money I saved on nutes I used for soil. From my understanding if you get good soil you wont have to worry much. If your plant is missing anything it will tell you.

Hey, that first response (tiptop toker)is sorta right. Assuming your in soil then yes, it is correct, a good soil, with adequate drainage will be more than enough for a first grow.

However assuming your not in soil a good liquid fert will be needed. (You could buy dry salt ferts but maybe tricky to mix/dissolve.)
but yeah, if your in soil why bother.

If i were you id buy a bag of soil, a bag of perlite. Some pots and a watering can. Even spring for the saucers for under the pots.
I would also look up your water report so you have an idea what your tap water is like. Hard or soft, full of sodium or full of chloride etc.

I would recommend some form of epsom salts incase the soil you get has a small amount of Mg in it, like bio-bizz all mix for example, which gets used up quickly. But you probably wont need it.

But if you got say M.G. (Miraclegrow) you probably wont need anything other than water.

Take it easy.

Anything you could use to grow tomatoes. Jacks classic is a common brand in the states.

MG or jacks works just fine. If you have quality soil, you can get away with just watering.

Your soil is the most important thing. Cannabis I would say needs more of a compost than a fertilizer. You can get by a lot cheaper this way, and with a minimum chance of burning your plants. Good luck!

you could take a walk in the local park and pick wild plants that can be used for teas, fairly cheap and enjoyable. do your homework.

Maxsea is the best for the money imho....its 16-16-16 and 3-20-20.

Dose is 1 tblsp per gallon complete micro's less mag.

Not knocking organics but the numbers(including price, dose and NPK) dont lie.

I use good soil, fox farm pcean forest mixed with perlite. I don't even use notes for a month with this soil. Then I use iguana juice for grow and bloom.

You can find Espomas Garden Tone at most big box stores. Its a great fert. You can amend the medium with it before planting, make teas and use it as a top dressing. It even contains some beneficials. A 10 dollar bag with last you for many grows.

I also use good ol cheap organic brands found at Home Depot/Lowes/Walmart etc. like Espoma, Jobe's, Alaska/Pennington, Dr. Earth, Down To Earth, Maxicrop (Kelp), the list goes on. No need to keep spending $ on synthetic nutes every watering when you can buy organic nutrients for less than $1 a pound, and a top dressing or organics once a month or so will work just as well and cost you pennies a grow... Not to mention organics complete with mycos/fungi make for some delicious meds .

The cheapest nutrients you can get by far is humanure

I have had a compost pile for years (mother natures finest) i feed all my gardens even my house plants with it and in turn they provide compost for next year. Its as Cheap as you can get.

Hey look buy eptsom salt, and some tomato fert like Miricle Grow, use half dilute , one tsp per gallon you go a half tsp per gallon every two week water with ferts. When the day lenght starts to change , stop the ferts and switch to etpsom salt the same ratio as the MG

I forgot to say do not put eptsom salt on your plant , place at the drip edge of the plant in the dirt
