There is no difference to the plant. Nitrate nitrogen is the same on a molecular level whether it comes already in a pure form or from bat shit or whatever, it's the exact same chemical. There is no difference in the finished product either.

i bet you dont believe the addition of uv lights aides in trich production either.:wall:
Lights are not exotic supplements. Light is a basic. As for UV and trich production, I would have to read it on a research site or scientific site before I even considered believing it. I don't believe anything without proof, sorry.

http://www.lightinglab.fi/enlighten/publications/internetui_akvile.pdf

"Though overexposure to UV light is dangerous for the flora, small amounts of near-UV light can have beneficial effects. In many cases, UV-light is a very important contributor for plant colors,
tastes and aromas. This is an indication of near-UV light effect on metabolic processes. According
to our results, the UV light (385 nm) promotes the accumulation of phenolic compounds, enhances
antioxidant activity of plant extracts, but do not have any significant effect on growth processes."

Apparently UV has an effect on color, odor and taste but not on yield.

I have gotten upwards of two LB per light using nothing but fertilizer. If you want a bigger yield, increase your aeration and lumens per sq ft.

I spend about $15 dollars a crop on fertilizer because I make it from scratch.

I have to side with GreenThumb. We know the 16 essential minerals and the plant doesnt care about the source of those minerals. When did the word chemical become so bad? I would like to quote a recent post from Al B Fuct about chemicals.

Chemical scientist Uta Wille defends the demonised substances that make up the world around us.

"A common definition of a chemical compound is 'any substance composed of identical molecules consisting of atoms of two or more chemical elements'.

We are surrounded by chemical compounds, both in and out of the lab. Apples for example, contain sugars (carbohydrates), vitamin C (an antioxidant), malic acid (which contributes to the sourness of green apples), and ethyl 2-methylbutanoate, which creates that delicious apple odour.

All these are naturally occurring chemical compounds made up of carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O). These same elements (and others) are also present in many man-made materials such as synthetic fibres, plastics, rubber, perfumes, fertilisers, preservatives and, not least, pharmaceutical drugs.

Of course, our negative view of chemicals is influenced by the fact that some are used in dangerous man-made materials such as Agent Orange, DDT and napalm. Other manufactured chemicals are responsible for environmental problems, for example air pollution and the ozone hole.

Nature not always safe"
Now I dont mix my fertilizer from scratch like GreebThumb but I do use chemical fertilizers and belive they are the best option for hydroponics. Seaweed extracts do provide many micronurtients but it's simply not needed when you are already providing them a complete chemical fertilizer.
