What Ph control is best?

Specifically what kind of acidic is recommended? I hear that if the acidic control is made of a certain acid it is too potent and will make it more difficult to control ph. any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated

ph down you should use nitric or phosphoric acid, for ph up potassium hydroxide. if you get a more concentrated formula, just use less, and you definately dont need much

Dude, this is a hydroponics thread not a soil thread.

Ditto Redliners reply. Typically phosphoric acid is used more than nitric acid. It is also more readily available at auto piants store or large hardwarestore as it is used for metal etcher to remove rust from steel before painting.

IE Klean-Strip® Phosphoric Prep & Etch sold at most Wal-Mart, Lowes and Home Depot stores.

yup best to get ph down from your hydro shop of ebay......my ph starts at 7....i water 2ltr at a time, the nuit's i add affect the ph little......it takes me 2 drops to drop to 5.5......so beware its potent stuff

pH down and pH ups grossly over priced, but for small hobby growers who use little nutrients it realy should not be a pocket book breaker to use the over priced products bottled for mj hobby growers.

Or buy the caid in a one gallon jug at almost a higher strngth for $30 on ebay. Or even cheaper at a hardware store.

Ph down phosphoric acid is 37% and the gallons of bulk acid or hard warer store acid is 52%.

Pottasium hydroxide crystal are readily available on eBay for about $5 for 2 pounds. That will make a a few life time supplies of pH up for the typical grower.
