What sativa would you recommend to a "novice" smoker and grower (for indoor)?

Hi guys, the title says it all I guess. I haven't been smoking for long but once when I smoke, I had a great experience because I was able to recollect memories from my early childhood that I thought were gone forever. It was amazing. But I have no idea what strain it was. But I guess it must have been predominately sativa?
 
Guys, he said a "novice" smoker, "novice" grower. C99 and Kali Mist is definitely not for the novice smoker. Don't know about the other two mentioned. And Kali Mist is a picky plant to grow, not for novice grower either, most sativas are harder to grow than indicas. They are picky about everything. Im currently growing C99 in first week of flower, now as far as growing goes shes pretty easy. Currently growing Kali Mist as well and two different phenos, one is very sensitive to nutrients and the other is sensitive as well but not so much.

I will be back shortly to provide you with a good list of sativas for "novice" smokers bro.
 
I have no way of telling you if what you smoked was indica or sativa, but sativas can be a pain in the ass to grow: They stretch tall and can forever to finish, allowing more time to develop nutrient problems for a novice grower such as yourself. But if you do want to grow a sativa, I concur with the abovementioned C-99 (Cinderella 99). The one provided by Female Seeds is of excellent quality; smells of overripe mango. Why C-99? Because it's a relatively unique sativa in that finishes in only 8 weeks or so (some sativa can take double that time). However, the C-99 does stretch w/ thin branches and heavy, slumping buds. So if you grow it, root the clones and switch to 12/12 flowers not long after transplanting into soil and be prepared to provide some form of branch support.

But as psychedelicbuds mentioned, C-99 can be anxiety-inducing. Actually, almost all sativas available can be like that. My recommendation is that you obtain a 30x loupe and check trichomes (something you should do anyway) for 20-30% amber, as this will counter that racy sativa high and provide a more gentle "up" buzz. Hmmm. I found C99 easy to grow, and easy to smoke. No paranoia, no racing heart. At least that was the case for the Female Seeds version
 
Go for exactly what it is your looking, track down some brilliant genetics of haze. I remember a guy in NY had the best haze I ever had.
Maybe someone could hook you up with a clone of one, who knows :bigjoint:

how did you find strawberry haze? How long did you veg & lighting, yield & how tall does she get?

The Strawberry came from Herbies. It was a fem. I have cloned it. I veg a month and it gets around 2.5' not to bad in stretch. Nice up high. It yields less. I would say 3 to 4 zips dry. It fills a half gal jar which depending on strain is ~100g. The TGA 3d clone I kept doesn't taste as good but is a very trippy high. 56 days after flip. The 3d will fill 2 jars.

Well to me, that is bad news. I was hoping that mine WOULD be somewhat pretty anxiety and paranoia inducing as I love to trip my friends out with some good smoke. None of them are used to smoking sativas, everything going around here is indica or indica dom, you rarely see any sativas come through.

Maybe on of the strains i'm running will produce that "oh shit man! I feel like i'm gonna die" type high lol.

Whos had experience with any of those listed strains and can give some personal experiences with the highs? I have had some killer LSD phenos before. Have smoked Kali Mist and C99 years ago but not sure if it were the real deal or not. The rest I listed I have never tried...

And I agree, C99 is easy to grow, very easy... so far anyway. But regardless, C99 is well known to produce anxiety and paranoia/raciness and many report it.

I had good success with Barneys LSD, very many have not and do not recommend it, but the one certain pheno I found and kept around forever was very sativa dominant in effect. More so than the super lemon haze and killing fields that I ran for a while too. That is definitely one thing that falls into place with your description, reminiscing on childhood and that warm feeling of being a child and remembering things from the childhood years. I'd smoke the LSD and go to the park with my little one and it really made those memories and that feeling your describing come in good and clear. I noticed that effect quiet often, so maybe if your willing to pheno hunt and possibly deal with a hermie on the search, id try the LSD.

Out of the 5 seeds I popped, one was a hermie, showed very early in flower right off the bat, 2 were very good narcotic in effect and smelled of chemicals and fresh skunk, but was too much of a "stone" for my liking, one was a very low yielder but resembled the narcotic ones, the best one was one of the biggest yielders I ever had. Long super dense sativa dom buds, very hairy, had a dominant nutty and musky smell with a real sweet skunk undertone and took about 9 1/2 weeks to flower compared to the others which were done in about 8 to 8 1/2 weeks.

So thats the pheno i'd shoot for if you try it. I remember it having a body high very similar to oxycodone as well, tingly/euphoric, up and energetic. Made your face around your eyes cheeks and forehead tingle a bit. Was just a good all around buzz man.

Hope I find that offspring again.

Never tried it, always wanted too and would say its killer, but I strongly believe that finding the real durban poison from any commercial breeder would be very hard to do. Because from what I have read in grow reports say the high was pretty weak and a bit energetic. But supposedly the real deal is wicked. Id say Malawi is better though, will be running it next time around.

Do a thorough research and grow any strain you want. You also forgot to mention if ur doing indoors or outdoors. Anyways, try TGA strains they are very easy and manageable to grow. What i mean is...even if ur new to this even the easiest plant may produce bad quality weed from wrong harvet/curing, over watering and so on. Know the basics put some time to it and ur gud to go

I like the fact that I could buy an individual seed. I've noticed you recommend "female seeds" but as I've just checked, they only sell minimum of 4 seeds.. :(. Do you have any other seed source recommendation? I'm based in Australia so I need to be careful about customs...

I've already odder a 60x pocket microscope so I hope it'll help me to find out the proper time for harvest...

There is like a lot of aussies here who get there seeds just fine. Dont waste ur time ordering just one seed imho, single seed center was actually the first seedbank i got my seeds too, my first grow was northern lights, white widow, pineapple skunk ,cheese and some other strains. And i did just fine on my first run, but that was outdoor. I dont think 1 or 4 seeds or at least a pack would make any difference at customs in australia, check some thread where aussies get there seeds, i love how attitude stealth there seeds btw...i always choose the tshirtbwith sweets

If you want to trip your friends out, just make edibles. I've felt like I was stroking out on more than one occasion on those damn things!

That is the whole point of the poison it leaves you clear headed but energetic, with a sense of euphoria..the high as you say could be seen as weak all a matter of perspective
