what size inline fan and filter should I use?

I will be using a 36x20x60 tent. I will be using a 400watt light for 2 plants. What size inline fan and filter should I use? I was thinking maybe a 4inch fan and filter would be enough. Do you think that size fan would work for my setup?

4 inch is good, but without knowing your local temps is difficult, 400w hps in Florida is different to Washington ..you can always add another 4 inch if in doubt

get a 6 inch and a speed controler so you can scale your ventilation up or down if you need to

A 6 inch for two plants under a 400 watt? Wouldn't recommend it. For small grows, I like these. They can actually do wonders for smell believe it or not and won't break the bank.

But if you do decide to go with a heavier duty setup, a 4 inch will be fine!\

For air cooling, any small fan should work fine

U don't need an inline fan with a 400w. As long as you have a fan inside the tent moving air around. Just make sure ur getting fresh air. If u have a hood, u could stick a 6" clip on fan. I have done it!

there are advantages to having a 6 inch witha speed controller instead of a 4inch by itself, 1. you can increase or decrease ventilation as needed, 2. a 6inch at half speed is quieter then a 4inch at full speed, 3. if you get a bigger light or exapnd your grow you already have the fan. A 4inch fan will definatly work for the setup im just of the opinion that you should never just use the bare minimum unless you have to

I think a 6inch fan and filter would be best for me. I changed my mind. I will be using a 32x32x60 tent. I think the more square tent would give me better light coverage with the 400watt light. I think that size fan would work better as far as helping with the heat and smell. I think using that size tent would be better too if I wanna add more plants next time. I am just curious if someone could tell me how many plants could someone scrog in a tent that size? I just plan on growing 2 for now.

always go bigger on the filter than recommended imo.
