what size LED for these 4xs4x6.5 tents?

doing a perpetual tent grow:

being a legal medical card recipient in detroit michigan im allowed 12 plants. i want 4 in flowering and 4 veg 4 clones..

No need to be bumping after 3 hours of the original post. Now 4'x4' area doesn't need much, maybe a Apollo 8 or something. Also I'm no expert at indoors but no a thing or two about outdoors and even I know having all the veg light on clones will just murder the kids unless you put them father away and then they will get light blockage. So I'm sure someone will post with more helpful information than me sooner or later, just bare with these people, they are busy most of the time but will help when they can. Cheers!

Those apollo 8s r like almost 600 but if newuns got some reviews on em or another brand im open.. Main concern is jus maximizing my yield for 4 plants in that tent

buy an HID. LED's are a joke and a HUGE waste of money. learn from my mistake.
these ppl giving you info on here promoting LED's are just trying to sell you shit.
you can tell by the amount of posts they have. look at their profile and read their latest posts.
LED trolling faggots trying to rip ppl off with their horseshit lights.
if you want primo fat dank buds, invest in an HPS growlight for 1/3 of the price.

I bought a UFO 90 some 3 years ago. It does not match the hype, BUT, is vg for veg/clones. They have improved sine then BUT price v foot print/penetration is still lacking.

I now use a Quantum Bad Boy 8 bulb T5, but would recommend multiple 4 bulbs for ease of bulb changes and plant height adjustment. There are a couple T5 threads here with vg input

Trying to sell shit? haha yeah right and if I really wanted "dank" buds I would do outdoor (which I will), and harvest 1lb a plant compared to your HID setup which would produce what 2oz a plant tops? Just cuz u failed at led doesnt mean everyone will, anyone can grow whith HID and HPS and CFLs, led looks better than it used to and will be sooner or later the future of growing. and as for 1/3 the price, did you add the extra cost for your electric bill, extra vent, and extra bulbs when they blow? guess you didnt

Im not putting HID and HPS grows down because they are the way to go if you have the room and money to invest in cooling costs and electric bill. There are different ways to grow to meet certain specs for different people, ex: Im going led because I dont have the time, funds or space to go hid and hps. I did do cfl before but the cost of buying all the 2700k and 6500k bulbs pretty much equals that of hid hps grows. The cost is pretty much the same for all indoor grows in one way or another. The cheapest and the "best" way to grow is and always will be outdoors(gonna get flamed) cuz you dont have to invest alot of money to get started nor keep up with em and the yield is far more than indoors. In closing statment, to each to own...

ughhh im soo undecided.. one minute im for the 600w hps then i hear costs of electric bulls and the setup for exhaust fans and shit and it gets me all rattled ... :/

If you are looking for similar results to a 600w hps in a 4x4 space, I would recommend 400-600wn led (actual wattage) split between two panels for optimal coverage.

listen youngin,, i'm just giving advice. you dont know what the fuck i do. what i grow. what i yield. you dont know shit. :)

electric bills even out numb nuts. for the simple fact that you need 2-3 LED units to BEGIN to compare with what a 600w can produce. electric bills will be the same and your buds will still be smaller. :) oh, and you paid $550-1200 for EACH led unit. lol

go with hps bud, you wont be sorry. buy the fan speed controller for your exhaust so its not on full blast and you can dial it to what you feel is right. put your exhaust on a timer so it turns off after lights out.

thank you guys! all have been helpful. i feel its the growers own journey and results that matter. i will go HID for now then in the future to come if i wanna try LEDs i will try them but for sure ill go with the 600w digy for flowering now.. thanks u markybuds

actually you'd be better off with a little of each, I started out with a 1kw hid and found in the summer I just couldn't cool the room cheaply as I bought 5 blackstar 500 to run in the hot months and the HID I'd keep to run in the winter when cooling is much easier. so to do a test grow I started 3 plants under HID and two under LED, same actual wattage 1kw (3 blackstar 500) . The HID is stomping the LED and I'm contemplating moving the two I have under LED to the HID room because from what I see the results are going to be hands down the hid kicks the led ass. now had it been a comparison that involved a combo of a lower wattage HID with a blackstar or two hanging with it I don't know what the results would be but I've heard good things, I'll be acquiring a lower wattage hid and cooltube for the next cycle unless I decide to just use the blackstar in veg (they do kickass in veg).
