what temperature is too cold for a res? (aeroponic)

From what I see, most people have problems with res temperatures being too high (I dealt with it for a little bit). My question is, at what temperature does the water get too cold for the plant? Are temperatures in the 50's bad (like 15°c I think)? My res usually stays around 60°F, or like 16°C on average. During the day it may rise a little bit, but at night it gets down to like 58-56 sometimes, bit the plants seem to be doing great considering its my first run with aeroponics.

And since I haven't updated them in a while, here are some pics of my aero setup: the first one is the tent, and the second one shows how my system works, and how I'm able to keep the res outside of my tent. Simple fountain pump system with sprayers on the line, which goes down the square tubing and sprays at each site. The 4 plants in the back are aeroponic, the front ones are soil plants.

From left to right in my aero setup, I have purple wreck, desert diesel, cotton candy, and blue dream all from seed. And I must say, I'm hopeful for each of them as they are still early in flower and are already developing some nice trichome action. I'm glad I took clones from all of them.

IMG_20140126_125329.jpgIMG_20140126_125356.jpg Here's the blue dream. It has the "earthy smell" to it, and seems to have a lot of sativa in its genes.

IMG_20140126_125430.jpg The cotton candy. It has kind of a pepery smell.. Its supposed to smell and taste just like cotton candy based on reviews, so we'll see I guess. From delicious seeds.

IMG_20140126_125446.jpgIMG_20140126_125501.jpg Desert diesel, from hso. Its more indica; short statured and broad leaves, very bushy. Its been a very healthy plant from the get-go and now that its starting to frost up I can't wait to see how it turns out.

This poor gal's been stuck in the corner ever since they went in the tent, and didn't get much light. My main goal with these plants was just to see which ones would be keepers anyways, and so far I wouldn't mind running them all again (just not in the same aero system, we'll see what happens when I have to crop out and they're all finishing at different times).

Anyways, thanks for stopping by.

Question, when do you normally start flowering? I asked that on one of my previous posts, but my plants are between 19 and 26 inches tall, 3 indies which are about 19 - 20 inches and 2 sat's that are 26 inches tall. I am in 5 gallon pots, 600W HPS, and 4x4x8 grow tent. Just wondering if I should veg another few weeks or just kick over.

Let me know (don't know if you can message someone on here) but I, through my company, and partnered with a water purification manufacturer and my filters are taking off here in denver at hydro stores. $80, last 5-7 years, and give balanced pure water.

EDIT :: Those all look great by the way.

You can flower whenever you want, really. I like to veg a little longer (at least 6 to 8 weeks from seed) and get bigger crops, but a lot of people do well going 12/12 from seed.

Generally, indica's will gain about 50% of their size (height) in flower, and Sativa's will gain an extra 100-200%. So if you have 2 plants that are 2 feet tall (when you put them in flower), and one is indica and one is sativa, you can almost guarantee that the indica will be about 3 feet tall when it finishes. The sativas are less predictable, but will likely wind up 4 feet tall when it finishes. Hybrids are generally in between.

So depending on how much space you have and how big you van get them (not to mention how soon you want your first harvest) all factors in on deciding when to flower. But for me, giving them time to develop plenty of tops and letting them get big before flower works out well.

Awesome, yeah I have about 6-8 tops per plant and one has 12 from super cropping. First harvest, I am planning on going the full allotted time frames for flowering of 8-9 weeks on these strains. Lol night and day difference switching from a T5 light to the 600W HPS, plants have grown about 4 inches in a weeks time.

Yeah, the ol' saying "watts is weight" isn't wrong, that's for sure. I'm like you, I like running strains their full time. Towards the end they will look like they're done and ready, and usually about a week after that is when they get the nice golden/amber hue, and are ACTUALLY ready.

I've had to harvest some of my white lavender (soil) plants early this run and it hurt, lol. But I only took about a half pound, I should have another pound that will have a chance to finish up.

Bump. Come on, I know I can't be the only person with a nice enough setup to be dealing with this problem... Anyone know at what point a res is too cold?
