What the hell are these things?

Ive found that i always get confused when looking for female pre flowers,cos there are sum that look just like them but they are green and they come off the stem just where the node is,ill try find a pic..but any1 knw wat it is?

how old is the plant? and are you flowering yet? they could just be stipules or new leaf growth

cant really tell you without a good pic...

by the way that aint my plant,mine doesnt have balls

so do stipules only come in the flowering period?

i dont know, it says its part of a flowering plants anatomy, but my small plant has what i believe to be tiny stipules on it and its a ways from flowering

iv read that there shape and size can be an indicator of sex, but havent tested it myself really
