What the hello, why not...

Next I’m putting up a 55 gallon drum in my workshop space that will gravity feed water to both rooms. I don’t currently have water run to the shed but there is a capped sprinkler head behind it that I’m going to tap to intermittently fill my tank. I will probably run water eventually I’m just not up for digging that trench just yet as I’ll probably be doing it by hand. I got the poly drum for free.
The wife is getting impatient, but technically it’s her honey do’s that are keeping me out of there. She’s helping finance it so I’m not complaining!
I should have the bloom chamber ready this weekend, it’s time to fire it up!Maiden voyage will have 400 watts of induction surrounded by 320 watts of logic pucks and either 2 x2 strip panels at 200 watts each or 2 - 4 foot strip panels of a single 320, haven’t really decided yet on how I want the strip lights yet, I kinda feel like the panels would be best coverage but the more I think about it the induction may be best for veg. My intuition tells me that the logic pucks were meant to go with that induction light they’ve been dying to get together ever since I got those pucks.
Strains: fake bubba, cluster funk, ecsd, and GMO. I might try to throw a purple punch in there too. I was grooming some gg#4 but she went sideways on me, I have found that my ph drifted which is rare in organic. I’ll get her turned around and in there soon. I have some great cuts on deck too, some Larry og, Bruce Banner, og18 (blessed with this beauty), gorilla piss, banana breath, and lemon cake. Woot, myjars will be stoked! It’s been so long since I have had a diverse stash. Dispensary grass is trash!

Gravity fed water is in, pumped nearly full with rain water! I have also decided on the lighting arrangement, so the 4x7 will have 400 watts of induction flanked by two 200 watt strip light fixtures and surrounded by 4 logic pucks on 318 watts, currently making a second 200 watt fixture to match the other I'm using for veg currently. So that makes for a smidge more than 1100 watts for flower in a broad spectrum. It’s about 40 watts per sq. Ft. If it doesn’t perform I’ll swap out the induction for more strip panels and some more pucks. Should be pretty good though. I have a 4 foot strip fixture at 318 watts for veg. I think it may need some supplement lighting, we shall see.

I don’t have a fancy light meter, but I do have a cheap par meter. After taking some readings around the room the induction is out, which is ok as the led panel that replaces it just stays the same as my previous 4x4 just with 2 of these 200 watt panels. Although I’ll probably change the spectrum a smidge still on my 4 foot strips. I was hoping for higher canopy temps with the induction but it just doesn’t pump the photons. Great for veg but led just owns smaller gardens now and diy is viable. The small panel like above is 200 watts and has a better light density than any other comparison I have made, I’m driving them pretty hard but dang! The strips max at 1400ma I’m doing 1000ma, normal is like 6-700 ma for soft nominal. The sun pegs my par meter in direct light, so will these at 18 inches. It’s blinding, reminds me of the old days running fat hps.

Still to trim in... Larry OG, fake bubba, and a 79 xmas. Had 3 phenos of the xmas but I lost one that was showing blue. I had an issue with ph lately due to water quality, then I apparently carried spider mites into the room following removal of a hibiscus tree from the house, it was infested with the red overwinters. I dipped everything in wetted sulfur and have been burning 4 hours ever other night till everything showed clean plus a week. The dip was traumatizing to many of my plants but only fatally damaged the xmas, mechanically I killed two others that snapped their main stem trying to shake off the excess water (purple punch and Bruce banner). P lockout left the stems a tad brittle I suppose.

I’ll probably Keep burning sulfur till stretch is over. There’s been so many fungus gnats this year! The sulfur is getting them too so the better safe than sorry is legitimate In all counts. It’s so nice to be able to just hose and scrub the rooms too!
So, I mentioned before that I took in a bunch of clones, well after doing plant battle for 4 months and following ipm and regimes for general plant health I’m ready to flower the room for her maiden voyage. Kicking myself for not going external power supplies but I might do that before I lay in a trellis. I don’t really know these strains so maybe they won’t need it, time will tell. They seem stout enough!

Thanks bro, I feel like maybe I should have journaled the process to show others how getting clones can be done and how to purge problems from the garden. The burn the grow down approach isn’t necessary, abstaining from flower might be. That’s best practices though. Get them healthy, keep them healthy, then hone the space...... nah, nah, na, na, na, zen... lol
I hate trimming out the canopy though, airing out the underside always makes me sad for them. They look so naked lol

I just found a box in storage that I’ve been looking for for 7 years! It’s got all my water quality gear in it like Hannah meter, indexing solutions, high dollar amendments, all kinds of chemistry goodies! Stoked, I haven’t run hydro in a loooooooong time but all the support for that is in there too! I have enough litmus paper to last forever but a good meter is so much better! Theres even some spare son agro bulbs from my old hps lol

haven’t chucked in some time but I look forward to these. Also did an f3 of super silver sour diesel haze, ssh leaning mom to sd leaning dad just prior to this. Mom is first page, I think I posted dad in connoisseur genetics thread. Those seeds are just for me and I have no intention of trying to triple dip sell that line. I might use it in a chuck, but it will be from that f3 class. Just let my mom go. I wouldn’t have but if not I wouldn’t dive into the f3s, gives me pressure.
This is my year guys, I wanted to start a dispensary/collective but they aren’t taking new licenses. I could, at best, enter the industry by making a product. No base material production. They just keep pumping the plant count for the current set of business. It’s frustrating here, there’s a loophole for seeds though because of the agricultural act! Our state wants to be high in cbd production and as such opened up to that law. By virtue of thc content there’s nothing distinguishing otherwise. So maybe I do that for a while, not like there’s room for competition or anything lol
I just need to make a shift into the industry, my heart needs it. I have some older projects to dust off that were quite promising and some cuts to work with that should be fun! They say that if you can get paid to do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life, I have worked too many days.... I do love what I do but it’s a stressful, thankless career. The reward is amazing but it bears a heavy cost and the pay isn’t good. Meh, it’s a toe hold anyway. My brother has capital but is in Oklahoma, he wants to do something. I don’t know just how it’s going to happen, and I don’t yet know what “it” really is, but that shit’s going to happen! lol

4/20/20!

I didn’t realize it at the time but I flipped on 4/20! Good omen?! The ecsd already has a smell that’s getting my attention, I can’t wait for that perfume!
I have a cut of gorilla glue that I almost lost recently from the ph problem I went through. She is perking up and making happy new growth, I’m so happy, my banana breath burned nasty after dipping in sulfur and she is bouncing back too. Everything is settling into the new digs well! I’m just realizing I may have gotten carried away with clone purchases though! I mean, did I really need a legacy Durban and poison mimosa?! Did I?! lol full jars from flavor town, that’s what’s on the way! Plus some donations to my dads outdoor adventures this year! Like I said, going to be a good year, Coronavirus be damned.

Have you finished that Sour D yet? If so, how is it? Is it someone's cut, or a seed hunt? I've been wanting to check out Shoreline's cut for a bit now, but haven't yet.

What's the details on those Durban crosses? Always been interested in the legendary Durban effects, but don't think I've tried any yet.

If you're still battling gnats, I've noticed a top layer of sand seems to keep them away. My bro science says it's because the grains of sand are like boulders to them, and they can't dig through, without the sand falling back in again.
No idea if that's the reason, but it seems to be a good mulch layer, and looks real nice!

I keep telling myself to get a bag of play sand when I go to Lowe’s, I actually need a couple bags for a couple other projects I’m doing too, I just keep forgetting to get them. I think my last bottle of Monterey BT was bad, didn’t seem to work at all. Just found a stash of gnatrol, should help.
