what to do next

i planted my auto seeds directly into soil after failing to make them sprout and today is my second day after planting them. i haven't watered them again yet as i'm waiting for top of the soil to dry down. my humidity is high around 80%.

i'm using foxfarm ocean forrest. I didn't add nutrients yet as i know i'm not supposed to add until three leaves are out.

what to do next? how often will the water dry down? when should i except the plant to grow out? what duties do i have ahead?

Up to 10 days is a general far end of sprout time. They can sprout afterwards but will typically be weaker. I personally have had 0 success sprouting in soil. I've lost a few weeks to trying to sprout in soil.

I have very good success planting into soil. Place a clear plastic Tupperware over the seed after watering a shotglass or so when playing. About 3-4 days later I have a sprout.

When you say "failing to make them sprout", what do you mean? What did you do to germinate your seeds? How long did you give her? I need some details. While my soil experience sucks, my hydro makes me sooo happy.

@Cfarm420, I don't know how but I'm doing it wrong. Paper towel germination works best for me. When I drop them in soil or even coco they don't even pop, much less sprout.

i couldn't make them sprout, i have put them in a glass jar than in a plate wrapped in a paper towel and only 1 out 7 sprouted. for 48 hours or longer. i'm hoping on the soil dropping thing.

It can still take a bit longer than 2 days in the towel. This is just what works for me,
1. Clean small container
2.Place seeds to be germinated in container with approx. 1/2 inch of regular hydrogen peroxide for 1 hour(this cleans aand starts to soften the seed shell)
3. After 1 hour soak in peroxide, drain peroxide and replace with clean ph'd water and allow to soak for 24 hours
4. Using the same water the seeds were soaked in, moisten a paper towel(moist or damp, not dripping) and place seeds on towel gently.
5. Fold paper towel so that it covers the seeds and pat gently to hold seeds in place.
6. Put moist paper towel with seeds into a zip close plastic bag.
7. Zip the bag closed except for a small space big enough to inflate the bag. Inflate the bag with your breath and seal.
8. Place bags in a warm light free environment(big part- NO LIGHT)
9. Wait
10. On the second day is when I start checking for rootlings.
11. Wait some more, till they are ready for their first pots.
I hope this helps.

Note* any seeds floating after the 24 hour soak are more than likely not viable.

I would give them 7 days. Of they don't erupt from the soil by then, they aren't going to.
