What to Get?

Hi i am new to this and just getting all my bits and pieces and i was wondering if a 400w mh and 400w hps would be ok for 4 plants maybe more also what each light should be used for e.g mh for vegging and clones an hps for flowering i dunno though?

can you use 1 light for vegging and flowering?

mh for vegging and hps for flowering. and yea 400 watt is good for 4 plants. if you can only afford 1 light get the hps. or you can veg with flourescent lights and flower with hps or just use the hps the whole way thru

cool cheers for the info so if i had fluros instead of mh what watt should the fluros be and everything i would use the fluros for could be done with a mh?

Also i just checked the seedlings havnt sprouted yet i just put them under a 20w fluro till i got something else the light was about 2 inches from the pots and the tips of the perlite in the soil weres tarting to turn brown i have moved the light further away but will they even sprout now? if yes how far away should this light be away from the pots?
