hazey, what strains have you grown to maturity and sorted from a selection of phenotypes? 1 seed of anything don't mean shit I don't even clone off of my freebies anymore, if its that good I'll grab a whole pack and pretty much guarantee I'll find a better one! $100-200 is a bit pricey but well worth it considering the low quality of many strains in the $50-100 range. Price is no indicator of quality but I'd rather pay extra for something I will be glad to clone off of for years to come rather than having a mediocre product at a low price. As for doggie nuts, their nuts, a $1000 pack of seeds is a complete insult I hope someone plants a bunch of male hemp plants behind their breeding facility!
As for the original question don't listen to the "hazey grape", he answers everyones questions with damn near the same info. If your new to this do your self a favor and find something easy, (think skunk or northern lights) then grab something a little more challenging like a managable haze hybrid, and possible a blueberry or related strain. This would give you a great stash and insure you learn a little about the difference in each plant. Some get big, some don't, some are very hungry, some are not, some will punish you with wispy bullshit buds for overheating them and some take all the abuse you can dish out. My first few grows were off of a Northern Light clone and i convinced myself I knew how to grow it was so easy. While that is convenient I would have been better of having something a little more challenging to go with it! As for breeders I've been really impressed with DNA, Cali Connection, G13 labs, Serious, Reeferman(long ago), I've been not so impressed by Sensi seed bank, THseeds, and Dinafem. I usually try to look at as many reviews as possible, not just here but other sites too. After a while you'll notice that the same strains keep popping up with either good or bad reviews and you can get a fairly clear picture of some of the more tested strains.
Or you could try one of the many new breeders that keep showing up all the time, I imagine some of them have amazing genetics and most do not, but then you could posts a honest grow report on something new and all of us would love to read that!
