Thanks and also if I am growing in a tent will I need any ventilation outdoors or what?use a 400 switchable light with a built in ballast from sunburst but you will need a inline fan
We are home.Wtf are these kids talking about?
Go 1000w hps or go home........
I totally agree with youI agree with Sickaluph! If your not using 1000watts you either: A- have size/electricity limitations B- dont know what your doing or C- Think you know what your doing but dont.
600 watts hps may have more lumens per watt but nothing compares to the intensity that a 1000 puts out which is what these high energy plants thrive on.
Good start, but you have it backwards. You want 160 going out and 60 coming in. The 100 will come from somewhere, like all the little leaks in your growing area. You'll have extra air coming in under the door, around the windows. How would that work, 60 going out and 160 coming in?
Hey Kitty thanks for that tip I'm gonna have to rethink this a little bit more now as to which type of fan to buy.Good start, but you have it backwards. You want 160 going out and 60 coming in. The 100 will come from somewhere, like all the little leaks in your growing area. You'll have extra air coming in under the door, around the windows.
Much, much better than all that extra (smelly, dopey) air being pushed out thru the window/door cracks.

ok dropastone a 1000 might be too much in the sense of heat build up but not in the sense of actual light you can never get too much of that indoors really if cost of electricity, etc. is no issue because nothing really compares to the sun which puts out around 1400 watts on each square meter of the earth and thats from millions of miles away lol . But there is a point of diminishing return. But for a 3x3 room you really could do a 600 hps and do just great since it is such a small area you will have heat bulid up so i would suggest intake and outake fans for sure. So to answer your question a 1000 prob would be a little overkill for that size grow and btw try to keep your garden around 77 i found that the be a pretty ideal temp for most strains
Thanks for the advice, I will take that into consideration when I get ready to set up a veg room (not any time soon). But when I do I can always move my 400 watt into a veg room along with my exhaust fans. Then I could look at getting a 600 watt with bigger exhaust fans. But right now I'm pretty locked in on the 400 watt since I already bought it.
Man, When I first started this project I thought I was gonna get by with only spending around 350 bucks. So far I've got 507 bucks into it and now it's starting to look like it will be around 700 bucks invested. It will all be worth it in the end though.
I'm just a beginner when it comes to indoor growing So I'll take all the advice I can get. For now I'm just taking it nice and slow and making sure my new grow room is setup right before I even think about sticking any plants in there.
Up hill, I hope your just stoned and meant to say down hill.yeah of course and with a 400 you really wont have bad results at all... you just wont be redlining in your space if that puts it in perspective. And yeah grow rooms will nickel and dime you to death but it will all be worth it in the end. heck most of this stuff you only have to buy once than after the first grow its all up hill from there.
