I purchased a gram of "Deadhead Kush" in Capitola, Ca at Green Acres dispenary and was lucky to find a very nice seed that germed in 24 hours. It's growing three leaves on the first set. Is it going to be retarded?

it's called whorled phylostachy (or something like that) they usually grow slower than a normal one other than that there is no problem.
Nice. So theres a name for it. I was wondering how some plants start with one leaf then three then five, or any other combinations. This one also had one leaf that had four fingers????

It doesnt seem to be growing slow. Its be 20 days and here she is.

thanks for the info tho.

Is it tho? im just using plain old florescent tubes for vegging. Well I guess the plant does seem a bit stubby.
you might want to switch to 6500 K CFLs plain tubes are usually cool white a very poor spectrum plus tubes are not a concentrated enough light source unless there's a whole lot of them.

And theres gonna be a whole lotta tubes. These t5 fixtured im getting have 6 bulbs and a reflector that is intense. I will get the right bulbs though based on this chart tho.

here's an old grow of mine at 14 days under a single 15 watt 6500 K cfl.View attachment 1844854
I dunno man, mine are a few days older and actually look a bit bigger than those and have much fatter leaves. I'm not interested in the cfl's because I don't have a way to rig em up. The tubes are easy to mount for me. and I dont mind using a shitload of them either. lol

I do have agro tubes tho.

lol, my bad, i thought the first pic was the one 20 days old, and agro bulbs are pretty good too, more red in them than just a plain 6500 K so you can use them for flowering too.

so what k cfl do you think is optimal and what k cfl for flowering
you could go 6500 K all the way but adding 2700 K stimulates more blooming.
