What Was Your First Strain...?

First strain I tried was in ‘08 and was AK-47. Later that year I did my first grow and was 50/50 in working. Ones that worked great Cookie Monster, Blue Cheese, Black Domina, Granddaddy Purple, Sensi Star CBD. The ones that didn’t work Cinderella 99 clone (spider-mites) GSC (revegged, light leak) and Gorilla Bomb (same as GSC)

afghani #1 sensiseeds, bought from my local headshop in the late 90's (which is still going). Grew one out in my wardrobe at university at the top of a massive four floor house that had been converted into 15 separate bedrooms for students. I didnt even have a timer or fan, just a 400w hps.

I left a few weeks early, and let the other guys water it for the last remaining weeks, i was on the top floor and i remember you could smell it at the front door when i came back after a few weeks to get my gear. It turned out full on menthol and christmas spice, really nice.

My first strain is this one. It's currently growing now.

Bag seed from schwag, grown outdoors at 17 years old with miracle grow behind a restaurant on Irondequoit Bay, NY. Great yield from 12 plants, big sticky nugs, finished on time, honeslty pretty decent weed from what I remember. That was 27 years ago and have done outdoors ever since.
Had no where to dry it so tried in mom's garage, yeah- that didn't go too well..... stunk up the neighborhood and was told to get it outta the damn house! Sure my step father got a few buds for himself, god bless his soul. He passed at only 47 years old.

White widow × Big bud was the first then I found one 2.5 year old Lemon skunk bean that was fire back in 2008-9.

No super sativa seed club sold it as basic5 there skunk x nl5 was called m39 nevils the seed bank never called it basic 5 only sssc did

That's plausible. I had copies of SSSC and the '89 Seed Bank catalog. Couldn't remember which one it came from.

First strain was "Walmart OG", named it myself!

Long story short the seeds were suppose to be Blue Dream ! I was actually shopping for supplies for my grow tent in Walmart when I was approached by a Walmart employee who asked what I was shopping for, I said I am growing some vegetables in my grow room I am looking for a heater !

When he stopped me and told me I was not growing veggies and insisted I was growing weed!

I caved, told him the truth, he quickly turned to me and said do not move I will be right back ( sketching me out definitely ! ) but I stayed and he returned with a small contacts case, give it a shake and you hear two little marbles !

He had brought me two Blue Dream seeds that he has been working on for 30 years with his father, I went with it and popped them in for my first grow !

Grow was amazing, smooth sailing with small deficiency issue and out came Walmart OG. ( The reason I had made up a name and tell this story the way I do is because realistically endless the stuff was tested I really have no way to tell the strain ! )

Bogbubble, ice and skunk 1 were my first real grow with 1000w hps in 03

First strain was in 1972. I was 14.

Oaxacan, and it was a failure. I got it up to about 4 feet tall, in June/Started in April. And my mother found it. It was growing in the backyard.
The weed it came from, was some killer shit too. Had 13 leaf fingers.
Heavy duty mental, and physical high. Paranoia inducing. Extreme heavy comedown. Drunk feeling. Shit would wack you out, make you raid the fridge, go to sleep, and wake up, feeling like youre drunk. Eyes still, blood red. 6 hours later. And looking for more food.
$40 a 1/4lb. $140lb. Loaded with seeds. Shit would have been unsmokable, if unseeded. The shit would burn forever too. Seemed like the longer you smoked it, the bigger the joint got.

my first grow was bagseed from a ounce of wicked weed i got of a old timer,grew in my parents backyard ,the funny thing was my parents actually helped grow it and were kinda pissed when one day it was cut off and gone lol,thanks you guys

Bag seed that my friend Crazy Matt lifted from a bag of seeds his father had. I knew nothing about growing, 12/12, male or female plants. Ziltch.

I tried germinating in a glass of water, killed 75% of them. The rest grew great, except I was using the wrong type of grow medium. I had each of them under a 60 watt incandescent bulb, 12 plants made it this far.

After 16 weeks the 12 plants were all about 6'-7' tall with stems like bamboo, no branches. I read a forum for the first time and got a lot of useful info, like get an HPS light, and get the height down somehow. I decided on bending the stems around the buckets and after a week and a half I had the garden under control with no plant higher than 1'. I ended up getting 2 x 400 watt lights and flowered them till harvest.

I ended up with about a half gallon of pine cone like buds, I don't remember seeing any trichomes. The buds grew right out of the stem above each leaf.
