Scary thread, but I think it's true that the current system is completely unsustainable and will collapse.

A government is like a drug addiction. It works for a while, but eventually destroys its host. I find it fascinating that rational people consistently consider government an evil and a cancer that funds itself through violent force, yet resists the idea of erradicating it completely.

I admire your passion for this concept of voluntarism but we are not headed in that direction yet. Humankind needs many, many years of evolution before we can exist in this sort of a society. In fact it seems we are headed in the opposite direction. People want less responsibility and more entitlement. I do think it's a wonderful concept though.

The government should do 3 things and 3 things only.
1st they should deal with national security both far and at home.
2nd they should deal with national disasters like hurricanes earthquakes etc etc etc. To be able to come to the rescue of people in need.
3rd they should deal with foriegn policies, we should vote on them and they should inact them.
Other than those the government should stay the fuck out of the way let fair market deal with it. Until we get our trade policies back to an even spot we are fucked. Why should the trade act be so out of wack we import 90% from china and export 10%. Fuck that. If it is sold here it should be made here plain and fuckin simple. I got more but am tired of typing!!!! WTF U S wake the fuck up before it's too late.

Are you saying that I should not advocate for true freedom because it is too difficult to achieve? You seem to suggest that one should advocate for the RIGHT thing only if there is a chance of achieving this thing. It's like a slave saying to another slave, "Stop wishing for freedom, it will never come." Going with the flow is certainly a valid strategy, and I can respect you for taking that path, but it's not in my nature to follow you.

The vast majority of people do not want less responsibility and more handouts. Those who do are just addicted to government and need an intervention.

now that I think about it, im sure lots of counties in the past have gone bankrupt in past history like wasnt portugal a huge powerhouse back n the day and so was spain,

Thankfully the economy is turning around already and if President Obama can end Bush's wars the country will be in great shape. Things are looking good!

where's all the job creation? what happened to the administration's promise that if we passed the stimulus, unemployment wouldn't reach 8%?

obama's printing money and giving the FED more power to destroy the economy. timothy geithner, larry summers, ben bernanke have never been right with their economic forecasts and predictions, yet they're seemingly hailed over and over again.

bottom line- our GDP is 72%...we're a consumer economy and our economy depends on people spending money. it's a fake economy, completely phoney. If our elected officials and the banks who run this country wanted to turn our economy around, they'd cut spending and invest money in long-term production...they'd rev up the manufacturing of our country.

all they're doing is printing money. Right now, the FED is keeping interest rates at 0% and lending to banks, whom loan at interest. this, combined with MASSIVE corporate consolidation, cutting wages/benefits and productivity, the devaluation of the dollar, and laying off more people, are the only reasons wallstreet/banks are reporting record highs.

inevitably, it'll implode because it isn't self-sustaining...and when russia, china, india, europe, saudi arabia all ditch their devalued dollars and those assets are liquidated...god forbid....we'll be royally fucked

Every one will grow and sell weed. Nuff said.
