What would you do? Mars hydro 2 1600w LED problem

Okay so last yield I only pulled 1kg from a 1.2 x 1.2 and a 2.4 x 1.2
The lights were second hand they use over 600w each (actual draw) and do amazing in veg I had 3 in the 2.4 and 1 in the 1.2

I found out this LED has 243 pieces activated by the veg switch but only 90 pieces on bloom, the power draw is around 400 on veg, I did use full spectrum but do you think this yield was so small because of how much blue there is compared to red?

Same set up this time but I'm going to put all of the 4 mars 2 LEDs I have into the 2.4 with only bloom switches on (worried.. if it's only 200w I'll only have 400w per 1.2 in the 2.4 I think maybe 400w of red is better than 600w of 3/4 blue

Conditions were perfect, this was the only difference from my last which yielded 1kg from the 2.4 alone

I dug out my old cool tube and hps bulb for the 1.2 but cant find my digital ballast (it's been years I may have thrown it out) so I'm going to my storage today to get my old smaller LEDs I used before I acquired these second hand ones and I'll use them for my 1.2

I wouldn't try and just run the reds on their own, more photons beats higher red with less photons.

Got any pics of them toward end of flower and at harvest?

For what its worth your running 50w per square foot with an outdated bit of tech that was never very efficient add to that there's no way your going to get the most even coverage from those lights.
So hitting 1kg isn't bad considering.

It isnt bad but it is when you realise I was using over 2k watt I've never had less than a gram per watt before
Do you think even having the 4 on red might not improve the situation but will pull me a kg again without using so much electricity?

No mate, quantity over quality. Meaning more light is better than a tailored spectrum (mostly)
You will end up with lanky stretched out plants with just the red.

If you want more bud for less watts use better LEDs.

I dont think they will stretch with 6? If I turned on these veg switches my UV glasses wont save me I also have 2 more of the smaller LEDs (kingbo 240w) which I can also add in if need be but I think I will wait and get myself a par meter? Area coverage is pretty good at the moment

HPS ballast was with the kingbo LEDs so that's now set up in the 1.2

If anyone has a preference of what they would do with my lights let me know!
4 x mars hydro 2 1600w (600w)
4 x kingbo dual optic lens 600w (240w)
1 x HPS 400-600w

The mars hydro 2 are untouchable in the vegetative period my plants are thick and solid top to bottom and they vegged extremely well they are £300 each but I got them second hand all 4 £620 with a complete green man system which I dont use I'm waiting to sell on so it really was worth it I'm just trying to do things to the best ability of my available equipment

This time I have 8 plants per 1.2 instead of 4 and a lot more main colas

I purchased a power draw meter today

The smaller kingbo LEDs are using 200 watts full spectrum 106 watts bloom

The mars 2 are using 184 in bloom 556 bloom 370 yes 370 in veg

Altogether my 6 LEDs pulling just under 1000 for the 1.2 x 2.4

I turned the 2 smaller LEDs in the middles veg switches on to bring it closer to 600w per 1.2m

Rough guess about 15-20% of the blue chips activated by the bloom switch are blue so the small LEDs in the middle will help, also it covers the middle with a lot of blue but the edges not so much so I will be able to compare

I am not against HPS I love them and will always use them to keep my house warm in winter I just want to make sure I perform to the best of my ability in the summer with LEDs

I think running only the red spectrum is gonna be disappointing. You would prob yield better running just the veg side if only going to run one or the other. I believe those lights are meant to be run with the veg switch on the whole time and then you just flip on the bloom to add some red to your spectrum when switching to flower. I see your worried about power consumption, but atleast over here in the states as long as you pay your bill and don't steal electricity your fine. Not sure how it works where you are but a couple thousand watts shouldn't draw much attention anywhere as many house hold items can use that much power.

That's how my last was
Electricity costs, neighbours, law not a concern to me bro but 300grams per 600w I doubt red is going to be worse than that lol I'm going to try
