Cool, let us know if/when you get your hands on it for a proper smoke report. I actually have a single seed of the SC so maybe this is a sign that I need to get on it soon:leaf:

Will do, although this wont be for at least a few months. Waiting for this summers crop to cure, then I'll set up that room. So I have at least 2 months from now to plan this out properly.
I will update on Tuesday when I know more.

So I've decided to go with an HPS lighting system for flowering but am currently undecided on a light source for veg. I'll most likely go with Advanced Nutes considering there is a store I can actually go to instead of ordering online. I'll keep you all posted.

For the time being, heres some pics of todays harvest, taken down at 6am (took me untill 7pm to hand trim all that - which turned into me ordering an Aardvark..lol)

I personally think that if you're going to veg your plants at two feet or less, then fluorescent tubes are a good bet. To be more specific, I think that high output T5s or T8s are the best bang for the buck along with great results.

If there's one thing I hate the most about cannabis cultivation it's gotta be the trimming. I've thrown buds across the room out of sheer irritation from trimming so damn much. I would get the Aardvark but then I wouldn't be able to save the resin from the trim. Unless there's a way? I'm considering getting this:

I've seen this video before and it gives quite definitive proof that it does work. However, I am not a fan of laying buds on screens to dry them, I would much rather hang them up. Furthermore, I prefer long stalks on the buds to ensure a longer dry out period. The chlorophyll needs time to break down so the ganja doesn't end up smelling like hay so I like to leave them hanging for at least 7 days then put them in brown paper bags, then glass jars.
It seems to me that you would have to break your buds down to use this method of trimming, which wouldn't allow me to take advantage of the previously mentioned pros that I so enjoy.

I appreciate the feedback on the lights issue and I'm leaning towards exactly what you've suggested, T5's or T8's. Ill know more on Tuesday.

Now, about the Aardvark - You're saying you cant save the trim for hash making? Why? I know the cutting action coupled with the suction of the vacuum would obviously disturb the trichs, but does it destroy them altogether? I would like to keep the trim for hash and if the Aardvark doesn't allow for this, I will need to think of another method of auto trimming (that still allows me to keep the buds on the stalks for hang drying)

That's an interesting point you bring up about the drying period and chlorophyll break down. It looks like that may be something I'll need to reconsider before I purchase it.

From what I recall, the Aardvark was something that was attached to a vacuum hose and ended up in vacuum bag. I'm not sure if they've improved upon that to where you can keep all the trimmings in a neat bag but that would be pretty cool if it did:leaf:

You're absolutely right about it being a vacuum hose attachment but there are many different kinds of vacuum cleaners it can be attached to. I'm going to be buying something similar to a shop-vac, or my dyson (which has a chamber the dust goes into for easy removal...any bagless vacuum will do I assume). The only truly bad thing about the Aardvark, at least that I can tell, is the price ($599.99CAN)

Similar price for the Handy Trimmer! They sure know what growers are willing to pay for. After I get done trimming more than a pound, I'm usually willing to pay at least $1,000. Have I mentioned I hate hand trimming?

lol, tha'ts what happens to me. Trimming sucks. Period.

...and yes, they know exactly how much people are willing to pay. Shameful, haha.
