What yields more? LST? TOpping or multiple

I am still trying to figure out which yields more? I know that lst can produce an even canopy, making the plant recieve equal amounts of light, however it makes the plant bushier, restricting horizontal room which means less plants and less variety of strains to grow.

Topping can give you 2-4 colas with an even canopy but still allows you to have more options as far as horizontal growth.

So... which one usually gives the better yield from the same plant?

I use a combination of LST and topping. I always top my clones once they have like 4-6 sets of nodes (usually 8-12"). From there, I will tie down plants as needed, bending only the branches that grow higher than the others. The very point of LST is to make your plants as wide/bushy as possible (the exact opposite of what you want). If I had to choose one, especially in your circumstances (limited space for lateral growth) I would say to top them. That way you can increase yield with two fat colas and the plants won't be too wide/bushy, allowing you to grow more plants and therefore more strains.

PS Remember you're gonna wanna pick strains with similar size/height characteristics, otherwise its gonna be a bitch to try to keep all the tall, stringy sativas the same height as all the short fat indicas.

i just lst and the scrog., i never top and they only grow at most two feet long, and if you lst the plant around the pot its in it stays nice and condensed here's a link to what i'm talking about.

I would definitly experiment, but probbaly combining both of them together LST is my favorite.

if your using CFLs and you have a few you can use both and grow it out so that you can have 1 cfl in the center and a bunch of budding sites almost like the tops make the shape of a bowl and have the other ones around it and if you have more then 1 plant flowering at a time using CFL you could do that trick to them all

I tie the main top down until the number of side branches I want reach the same height as the auxin, main top. In this method of lst you can predict and control the bushiness of your plants pretty well. You can always let them bush out until they reach each other with this method of retying the top down repeatedly. They will stop growing laterally when they run out of room. If it starts getting too bushy untie the top and let it spring back up towards the light, then the plant will stop pushing the side branches up so hard. A couple days to a week before you flower chop everything off, within reason, below the canopy that wont get enough light to produce. Be careful when pruning as some of the bottom branches will have made it up to the top and would cost you if you chop them off. You will end up will several main colas on each plant (I get between 6-12 depending on how long I veg and how long I retie the tops for and sometimes the side branches too) and after you prune the plant it will be able to focus most of its energy on all the colas it will have.
