So I've been looking for a new set of neutral stronger then the current Fox Farm I'm using. Anyone have experience using Fox Farm and know of something better stronger and cheaper or around the same price.

It's funny how nutrients are considered expensive, or cheap.

Some companies (not FoxFarm) have dedicated their efforts to providing optimal nutrients for cannabis

Next, the quality of said nutrients is to be considered, and can range from ~ 5-10, with 5 being mediocre, but passing the lowest definition test

For a simple hydro nutrient, I can highly recommend Hydroponic-Research V + B. And though I used it for ~ 4 years, for both veg and bloom, 2 grows back I switched to Emerald Harvest 2 part and 3 part.

I recommend the 3 part for the more advanced grower to further dial in the nutrient profile to match grow cycle stages

I use advanced nutrients grow micro bloom. You can get a one litre set for under 40 bucks and you don't have to have ph or tds meters. The base nutes alone will grow really nice plants without any additional additives. I switched to them about three years ago from botanicare pure blend pro and haven't looked back since. Prices of all the nutrient lines are about the same, especially when you start adding in all the additives, and all the nute companies sell additives for their line. You'll get a lot of flack on this thread, and a lot of opinions, grabbing some popcorn to enjoy the coming meltdowns! bongsmilie

If you want to run the Lucas formula throughout your grow, I've had great success with GH MaxiBloom powder along with some added calmag. It really couldn't be simpler, mix the powder with warm water, throw it in your res, add calmag, and adjust pH. It has gotten rid of all the different nutrient bottles I've had lying around. It's also dirt cheap.

I went the other way, lol, AN Connie to Botanicare pro blend. I don't think I put enough time into dialing in the AN correctly, though. I liked not checking PH, but I couldn't go without monitoring EC. Knowing what I know now, I don't care as much about which brand I use, but I do try to stick with one and not mix products. I run a single part base, a bacillus root inoculant, humic acid, and silica in veg and add a PK booster and carbs in bloom. I just reupped my nutes but next time I'm going to go back to a 2, maybe 3, part base so I can fine tune it better.

To the OP, I did some cost analysis when I wanted to switch nutes, and there was an, insignificant to me, cost difference between the half dozen or so nute lines I looked at. I don't remember exactly, but it was something like $75-100 difference, over a 12 week cycle, from least expensive to most expensive. That wasn't worth it to me to rack my head over nutrient costs.

Cheap and all you need.

Telling u... If I wasn't using bpn 3 part, I'd be rocking the gh 3 part.. Matter of fact I actually do have GH micro, grow, bloom that I also use on my dwc mothers just because sometimes I forget/can't order when I need to for whatever reason, I like to order a bunch at once so I try to order at least 3 of each gallon... They are top notch man... They will 100% give you your $ back if you ain't happy bro if that isn't an incentive to try it.... And the best thing about blue planet is when u need an answer, email them and literally you have competent answers with 24 hours or way less most times...The one and only thing is you have to order it because they don't sell through sunlight supply or whatever otherv big suppliers are out there, they only sell direct to the public.... I like that business model, no fluff... The price is still cheaper with shipping than GH at a local hydro store... Last time I ordered, I ordered Monday/Tuesday got it by Friday I'm pretty sure...

Whenever this thread was going on, I was following and trying I watched a crazy amount of pages of 2liter soda bottle hempys and the dude was killing it with gh 3 part, like 12-16g's per 2 liter soda bottle x 112 bottles in constant rotation... The dude had such a following bpn asked if he would do a straight up Bpn grow and put 1 or 2 cycles against a year or more or running gh.. His first run with bpn I think he averaged 19 or 20 g's per 2liter bottle hempy..

Take a look.... https://www.420magazine.com/forums/completed-journals/149813-2-liter-hempy-sog.html

I'm kinda basing my grow to something similar but with flood tables... The concept is working mint for me so far with help... but in order to really take advantage of it; your u gotta get into those scary plant numbers so I try don't get too crazy... For plants the size of big clones your getting charged with fed charges because of the plant count but it doesn't matter that if I wanted to I could probably grow the same amount or more with 1 or 2 plants and a lot of veg time....

Again... The cheesequake is fuckin bangin... Sorry for the rambling...."I couldn't shut the fuck up because I got high...."...

5-12-26 from JR Peters and calcium nitrate

3:2 ratio. Simple. Cheap.

25lb bag of the 5-12-26 would make over 3500gal

25lb bag of calcium nitrate does over 5800gal

Costs less than $100.

2 cents a gallon. Cant beat that.
