Whats a good strain to grow for beginers

I am not new new, i have had a couple crops and am on my fourth now and my favorite so far has been Nirvanas swiss cheese seems to be more forgiving than anything else ive done ( Lemon skunk (auto), Afghan Kush (auto) and my first atempt bagseed)

Nirvana Swiss Cheese is AWESOME. It was my 1st grow and had massive, compact buds. It was super easy to grow and cures out well. It is a favorite of everyone I have smoked out!

I would suggest auto Afgan Kush Ryder for a first grow LST'd. Any light regime will work. I've grown these 24/0 under CFLs and 12/12 under a 400. Usually done in 8-9 weeks from seed. Dry yields between 1.5 and 3 ozs.

I would simply avoid any 'Newer' hybrids that have little info on them. Try sticking to a good tried and tested strain that has good info out there. An example would be like Jack Herer, Ak47 or Northern Lights Etc. Also Cannabis Cup winners may produce great smoke, but they may have ridiculous pheno variation, be low yeilding and take longer to flower.

Stick to tried and true brands not newer hybrids... Mr Nice Seeds, Serious Seeds, Paradise Seeds, Sensi Seeds... I don't like Greenhouse but mainly due to not having Regular seeds

TGA Plushberry or Vortex. Both grow fantastic and your shit will be better than those that have been growing. You do not have to settle for Autoflower lower-grade bud. Plush berry is in regular seeds form but that isn't complicated and the plant grows like crazy!

Avoid anything TGA, at least for a first time grower... to many people on these forums seem to grow exclusively TGA gear and miss out on a whole world of growing. The strains I and others have mentioned are more stable and have been around for over for a couple decades. The more stable strains will give you 5 plants very similar to each other, but you'll still find one or 2 that stand out. TGA gear is too unstable, especially if your a first time grower, you'll get 5 plants with completely different characteristics. I'm not just picking on TGA, there are other breeders just as guilty as this, TGA is just the most popular.

Slow down there Galdstoned.... I never said Plushberry was bad, you fabricated that idea, but if you can show me where I am wrong about TGA having so many pheno types per strain I'll +rep your ass, however tons and tons of threads on here speak otherwise (and I can add my own experience to that).
Most common questions newbs have in no particular order: How much will this yield, how much longer does it have, can anyone tell me why the leaves are (insert several different questions) doesn't take a TGA grower to answer those. Also old school, meaning experienced growers, have probably grown a Skunk #1/Shit, NL #??, and a White/Black Widow so I'm sure there is plenty of help with those strains.
Checked out your grow journal, kudos to you for that, but curious did you by Ghost OG because it was on the cover of HT's? LOL

I like Nirvana's White Rhino. It yields nice, withstands high heat, its hardy and very easy to grow. Its one of the few strains I grew over and over because others liked it and it always grew the same, like a strong Indica. TGA are good, but yeah lots of phenos. In fact most of the best tasting and looking strains from any breeder have lots of pheno variation. TGA isn't bad though, all phenos I came across were good. But I agree when starting out its easier to learn on a strain that has less pheno variation

I have a few journals going and I absolutely bought the Ghost Train cuz of the cover of HT. lmao. I put that in the first post. lol. I also have Somalian Taxi Ride and TGA Time WReck also. Both in the Michigan thread and both the rare Dankness on the seed depot.

It says right on his website that Plush Berry has 2 main phenotypes. I take a 5 pack, choose the best female and then clone best female. Isn't that the thing to do?

This is the main reason I say don't go with the TGA, my first grow I tossed a DQ cutting that I wish I had kept, I was not patient enough to see how it was after 2 months of curing, what was just a saliva cheese actually cured as a Sativa lemon cheese, cheese with a subtle touch of lemon. My other 2 phonos were Cheese and Lemon, this one combined both. I think time and experience are required before taking on the breeder side of things (essentially you're doing half of a breeders job by having to select the best pheno, yes you can clone it, but if you lose that clone you have to buy a new pack and HOPE you get that one, or you stabilize it yourself, and not everyone (intact I find most people) don't care to do that, I for one love breeding.

I agree with what you are saying there, but I still go along with what I said. I think the OP will learn the most and grow the best weed by picking out a flavor of TGA and better yet, post the grow and a ton of people will help you along that have grown out 5 and 10 packs of that strain. If you have 2 pheno's in my opinion BOTH would be better than Nirvana's.

Here is a post that SketchyGrower posted in michigan forum. So here is an example of 3 different phenos, but son of a bitch I think that is a good thing, not bad. I stay clear of genetics that you have to search for the only good pheno. With TGA you get to pick the best one. Much much different scenario. And this was just posted, that is my example of how handy TGA info is on this site. A brand new grower can post a thread on a grow and people will walk them through it. After a few harvests you have years of experience.
