heat is my main concern
4 CXB3590's powered at 700mA for less heat, or at 1.4A for more power.heat is my main concern
I wish someone would test these Citizen cobsI'm using 6 Vero 18s (4x3000k + 2x4000k) at 1050mA which will give just over 180w. I have a dimmable driver that I can turn down to 525mA and up to the 1050mA and can be put together for much cheaper than the 3590s. But it won't be as efficient either.
So it just depends on your budget really. Mine wasn't able to fit the 3590s or even 3070s as the veros are much cheaper but they are slightly less efficient.
You could also try the citizen clu046 1818 3500k. Those are going to be my next purchase, although I have no idea how they stack up efficiency wise, they do pack a good lm/w for a good price in the right spectrum.
Sounds like a winning comboIm using 4x cxa3070's i put together last year on 4x cheap chinese drivers in a 2x2x6 cabinet that are rocking my plants right now. They run slightly over ambient temps being pushed by 1500ma per cob.
I will look into that... but like I said I have to look into ordering from China. I don't live in North AmericanA MeanWell HLG 120 1050 would run 4 CXB 3590's well and in a 2' x 2' with a PPDF of 1,041 so dimming is recommended...
They (3590) are more efficient, but with similar (PAR) watts the 2530 should perform similarly I would thinkI'm using 8-10 CXB2530 @ 700mA. In Aus they cost about $13.95 a piece or about $9 US.
Couldn't have built it cheaper. Would have preferred 3070 or 3590 but at $50aud or $80-90 for the 3590 it's hard to justify.
Are they really going to be 300% or 500/600% better?
