I get x3 plug sockets, and put 3 cfls in a power strip, then I put two screws in the wall and hang the power cord horizontally. the three bulbs can hover perfectly over a plant. :-D just a suggestion.

if your concerned about cost save your money on the mylar and use flat white paint..its almost as reflective...the only benifit i see in mylar is that it is easier to clean...the lights are 3-8 each...depending on where you get them...1.99each for a cheap extesion cord $2 for socket adaptor $2.50 each for y adapters about $1 each for some screw hooks....plug the cord in and hang them from the screw hooks plug the socket adaptor into the cord screw in the y spliter and screw in the bulbs....

icic, so doing that with a few bulbs and the 2 200 watt cfls on at 18-6 would be good enough for a good outcome

TheInfected, I get the impression that you could benifit greatlt from some time with the GrowFAQ, 18/6 is good for veg but unless you happen to have an auto strain a plant will never flower under that light schedule.

Good luck

the only reason i am so stuck on CFL is mainly because its all i looked into and other recommended it to me, and also told me it would be best for my small space with only 1 fan and just keeping the door open. Also.. because its all setup with reflector, no extra ballast or anything
but your saying if i go hid. in my tiny space, i will still be able to grow more.. with just 1 fan and keeping door open?

how much do u trim off of the bottom? and when u put your plants out as clones straight into the flower cycle do they grow well?
when you flower a plant from clone it will grow like a lolipo plant...just one top kola..you will get some growth below but you want to trim that off...this is only good when you have a mother set-up so that you can be rocking out clones 10 or more at a time...

ok but im worried it will get way to hot in my small space with hid.
and when i looks at prices it seems like hid is more expensive because the extra stuff you need to buy don't you?

well like i said all i've done rlly is research cfl ive done all cfl research, since i thought that is the way i was going to go
but tht pic u showed me is the hps with the ballast and reflector all in 1.. its jsut so huge..lol

But really? ONE 400w HPS will take care of what i need, better then the CFL set up i wanted to do?

yes..the hps is alot better than the cfl set up...and that is a cheap setup i forund in 30 secs....if you do some homework and reaserch you can find something that will work for you....and have you seen how big a 200w cfl is?

you can use one hps for both flower and veg....or if you spend a little more there are hps/mh conversion systems...but if your starting out hps all the way will do just fine...
