What's eating my leaves?

Hey all. This is my first post & I'm doing a small 6 plant grow indoors. I'm using an ebb & flow system by Titan, hydro corn & grow stones as medium, 3 x 315w cmh, emerald harvest nutes. I've just started the 3rd week of flower & noticed something's been chomping on my leaves. I was curious if anybody has experienced this type of leaf damage? I've spotted one little tiny black fly in the room but that's been all.

Hi hotrod, You think moths possibly ? I definitely haven't noticed any. The damage does appear to be happening during the dark cycle though (or so it seems anyway). I'll research the moth thing & see what I can find out. Thanks for your thoughts.

Interesting... It is in small select ares. However, I just now found a small flying critter. Some type of fly I think.
I'll post a pic to see if it's familiar to anyone perhaps. Thank you.

In Texas, we are into an invasion of army worms..They are 1 1/2" long and gray, and are stripping plants to the main stem...Luckily , we also have a large flock of sparrows here that delight in taking them down the gullet.

It looks like a catterpillar or grub put there by a moth. Find it on the plant and kill it.
Also raise the lights i can see some bleaching, the 315 cmh are very intense.

Canna - Hi there. I never considered cockroaches. Would cockroaches scale the plant to get to the top leaves I wonder?
Willi - I've heard those damn worms come in 7 year cycles, not sure if there's any truth to that or not.
You're correct, time for the double-throwdown my friend. lol :???:

Hey Buds - thanks for the input. I have been diligently looking for any critter but to no avail yet. I killed a small flying fly/aphid thing but not certain that was the culprit yet.
You are absolutely correct on the bleaching. I think you are referring to the one pic in my veg room of the smaller plants, I bought a new light & reflector and I definitely had it to close to the girls. Appreciate your comments, thank you.

If you want to keep track of any flying critters, just put out some yellow sticky traps. Many bugs are attracted to the yellow color, and will be stuck there so you can monitor and identify what is flying around.

I did exactly that just yesterday. I picked up some Safer's sticky strips from the hydro store & hung a couple in each grow tent. I also cut some strips down & placed on the top edge of the planters as well as laying one on the floor also. As of right now the strips have nothing on them yet. Thanks for the reply

There's a product called Tangle foot, comes in tubes and tubs, originally for fruit trees I make my own yellow/blue sticky strips with it but one can also smear some around the bases of your plants nothing can wade thru it, it's cheap too..

Ya, that is an excellent idea. I think I'll head over to Buckerfields & see if they carry any of that. Cheers!

In my experience; yes they will. I had this same thing happen to me...little bites out of random leaves here or there with no visible pests. It happened once, when the lights were off and I never saw further damage...random. Obviously if you're having daily damage you may well have a bit more going on.

Hi Canna, I haven't been able to find a single bug of any kind for a couple days now & no further plant damage either ?? I'm not sure why, the only thing different is that I hung up some yellow sticky strips. I'm monitoring it steady though. (I put sticky strips on the floor too so if anything is crawling around I can hopefully catch it)
