The light is sufficient for a small grow .... I have good results with the 1000.
Takes a while too convert to these from hps . Anyone can yield with an hps but working with these low wattage lights takes allot of attention to detail.

My plan was to flower 6 plants under 2 of these if you think it's a waste of money I won't bother getting them ill just stick to HPS with summer coming I wanted a little less heat as have trouble keeping my room under 32°c even at night.

Mars is great at making their lights look more powerful than they are.

When you see specs like this:
  • Core Coverage: 3ft × 3ft = 90cm × 90cm
  • Max Coverage: 4ft × 4ft = 122cm × 122cm
They are making it more difficult for new growers to understand that those numbers actually mean that the light would be suitable for plants in a 4ft x 4ft (16 square feet) area during vegetation but the effective footprint is reduced to 3ft x 3ft (9 square feet) for plants during flower. IMHO, Mars Hydro lights are overpriced for what they are.

If you have the ability to assemble parts, and wire up pretty basic circuits, then I would recommend reading the thread I link below. I was able to build two lights that blow away two of these lights for around $500. But I also went with premium materials, for the frame and heat sinks, so you could probably knock another $100 off that total price if you went with angle aluminum for the frame and square tube aluminum for the heat sinks.

I think mars lights suck if you want to reach your true potential. If you can go HID, do it. If you cant for heat reasons, then look at LED
