Sounds good. My gf is a Trini so it's curried everything, but i refuse to budge. If i'm gonna eat foreign i'm eating chinese or japanese! Curry is always my last resort food.

Had a stove pot chicken and potato dish for dinner, followed by a bottle of port in the bath, and now i'm gonna stick on some big bang theory and ccrack open some cider a a 1kg tub of chicken and pork pasta salad i made this evening followed off by some herb coated saucisson sec

She doesn't cook for anyone. Not because she can't, but because that's the dynamic of our relationship. I cook, she cleans. And she has ocd with regard to cleaning, so she does an AWESOME job and don't waste your wine on her. I popped a bottle of rather expensive white in the fridge, and she offers to go get us a glass, so she comes back with 2 pint glasses, half wine half elderflower cordial. Was not too impressed. But even though she's a size 0 and 5 feet tall, you can drink and drink and drink, I've never managed to get her drunk. She's an odd one, that's for sure! I have learnt to cook a mean curry though, so by all means bring some wine! people in the UK think curry is just meat and rice, if you're gonna have curry, do it right. I do mine with potato channa, raita, dhal, curried artichoke hearts, and home made naans I'd also make mango chutney but they're bloody expensive here. In Trinidad she would get about 20 a day from their garden.

Doesn't look fresh and doesn't look whole still a good price though. I don't buy frozen fish however.

And yes, they're frozen pacific salmon. Can't get fresh pacific salmon on the east coast. They were definitely frozen quickly after being caught, you can tell by the smell and the texture of the fish...

I get fresh Atlantic salmon all the time, but it's usually $10 for 1/2 a fillet. :/

I have to pay £20/kg for fresh wild Alaskan salmon fillet, or the same price for fresh farmed Atlantic. Normally works out about £3 a portion. Absolute rip off. We are an small island surrounded by copious amounts of fish, yet fresh fish of most kinds is out of budget for the majority of households. Although I can buy fresh whole 4kg rainbow or brown trout for £2 a fish from local fishermen. Fortunate to live next door to a couple of good trout lakes. Alas when I go fishing with my old man we catch widely squat, seems he doesn't know as much as he claims. Still a nice day out though

went to the parents for dinner was very nice moms wife is a chef and my mom is a pastry chef they are getting the hang of the vegan thing i enjoy going to dinner with them
tonight they made me pasta primavera , bread, salad, and berries romanoff with vegan ice cream for dessert.
they also ate that so it was nice to be eating the same thing together.

I quite enjoy it.

she has been her entire life. medical test tube shit wasnt around when i was born so my mom recruited her best friend my dad, and 2 bottles of wine, and viola i am here today!

thats awesome, my mom use to like guys i guess my dad changed her mind cause hes a dick but i love my moms wife, she is the coolest persons ever and she brings home the bank shes a computer programmer and loves to cook, she just made some carriot cake that shit was the bomb

when i first went vegan i was at my moms house to hangout and she asked
"are you hungry"
i said "yeah sure lets have a bite to eat"
she than proceeded to open the fridge and goes
"we have can tuna salad"
i looked at her
and she said "oh wait theres mayo in it"

we were so high we laughed for so long everytime i see this pic i think of that day

at my resturant we had a lady who requested vegan but ate fish my boss went ape shit on her.
she was like I HAVE A VEGAN IN MY KITCHEN STAFF SHE WOULDNT EVER EAT ANYTHING WITH EYES ITS A LIFESTYLE NOT A DIET, YOURE NOT A VEGAN

I used to go out of my way to fuck with vegans and vegetarians risotto, soup, you name it. I'd use chicken or veal stock what they don't know will not hurt them. Then we got a lactose lady come in. The waiting staff were so crap that every time they came to me with her order I had to say nope, the bread has milk, nope, the monkfish has milk, nooe, the risotto has butter, nope, the soup has cream. Was very amusing. As a chef, you'll know how the small things are often the things that get you through the day

Hehehe. That'll teach people to assume that carrot soup is vegetarian not my fault the manager doesn't write an accurate menu. I just cook things in the waybthat they'll taste best if that involves a 5 day stock, so be it
