DST...I love making banana bread. I tend to use bananas that are a bit more ripe than that in my recipe...borderline too ripe lol. Recently I tried making a 'lowfat' loaf using applesauce in place of butter and sugar and holy shit it was terrible. Needless to say, that idea was scrapped after one slice. Sometimes I also put choco chips and walnuts in mine..MMMM!!


Anyway, tonights dinner was pretty bomb. I cooked the steaks just how I like it, had some carrots and peas on the side with my first homegrown silverqueen corn! Growing corn is really exciting. I only will end up with like 14-16 ears but it was fun to grow and it looks pretty coll to have those stalks in my garden. They were really tasty I wish I would have boiled them in water for another minute or two but I was hungry :eyesmoke:

TTT if you hate the texture try peeling them and freezing them in tinfoil, makes them like milk pops you used to get as a kid.

Vending machine cheeseburgers and McWrongalds!?! Dear lord, if there was a shaking my head smiley I'd use it lol.

It's actually the mushiness i don't like. almost prefer them when they're not ripe, but it's still not right.

You'd actually be surprised just how many chefs love mcdonalds. And Junk food in general. We spend so much time making high quality food, that on a day off, it's bliss just to sit back and eat rubbish :) It requires a lot of motivation fo finish a 50-60 hour week and then spend your day off cooking and cleaning up afterwards. And i was hesitant about the vending machine burgers as well, but the gf bought a couple while waiting for the phallus, for 1 euro each, and they were so good i put one in my pocket and had it for breakfast at home the next day. Much better than mcdonalds.

Market day! gonna head out and pay somerset charcuterie a visit :) although i'm in the mood for a creamy winey chickeny mushroomy tagliatelli for dinner now.

I didn't plant any this year but last year I did and like 2p i planted a 5x5 and only got about a dozen ears:(They were good though.

They don't look the best but I guess that's because their heirlooms(black krim and earlys),.......
I guarantee they taste the best though:)

Just back from the shops. Bought myself a deep fryer :D Much fun to be had. Already have a whole bunch of whitebait and calamari in the freezer :o need to make some panko breadcrumbs and buy some halloumi stat!

The new trailer park boys film has just hit the web so tonight, to quote Ricky, im getting fucking drunk and stoned! you with me boys?!

Check your inbox don. watched live in dublin a few weeks ago, and then had to wait for don't legalize it til just recently. I couldn't really work out if either of them were as great as the series, but i still smiled.

burning frozen pizza eh? sounds more appealing than the missus attempt though. I pre-heated the oven to 200, then foolishly let her do the next part. Naturally she shoves it in the pre-heated oven, and then puts it onto 1600w microwave mode for 10 minutes. I made myself some noodles and told her to enjoy her pizza.

They really are microwave ovens these days. It's basically an oversized microwave that is also a normal electric oven, albeit a very small one. They even make them with two electric hobbs on the top, seem to be a favourite for landlords trying to let shitty little bedsits.

Does everything. Although never tried chaos defrost. And i stand corrected, seems this one is only 1000w, getting confused with something.

I'd rather be the old man with his gas oven than the young punk with his shiny electronic toy that can barely hold a roast chicken. It is pretty crap for cooking, you can only really have 1 thing it at once.

My landlord removed an old but perfectly working gas oven and replaced it with a slim fit one with a combined grill and oven. I was wounded when I saw it.

Two slim trays makes makes doing a Sunday roast nigh on impossible. Does my head in.

Going to have another bash at sausages tomorrow but with real intestines not the fake crap. Try n make some hanks maybe....

That blows. Have fun with the sausages :) I wouldn't mind a sausage machine one day. Possibilities are endless. Granted burgers would be cheaper, but i love the snap/pop of a good sausage.

Yeah I've come to terms with it and learned to work around it or alter certain meals.

So the butcher sorted me some real intestines and pork and also gave me the heads up on his ratio to fat which he reckoned best was a 70/30 pork to fat ratio. get this the butcher was like, so when your sausage maker breaks, which it will[sic] we can mince it for you!

i was like well if that happens I'll be here buying sausages as it doubles as both lol.

chaos defrost, that has got to be the funniest thing ever....is it a Chinese brand? So you put something into defrost and it freezes it even more...or what, turns it into a Pig? or/ cooks it on the outside and leaves it raw and ready to be cooked on the inside, no wait, that's what all microwaves do...defrosting in a microwave is NAE GID!

Never used any of the presets. Its a Panasonic unit.

"Chaos defrost is a system that improves the auto weight defrosting process.

Chaos defrost uses random pulses of power to achieve a quicker and more even defrost within the food. This would only be used for Bread, Meat Items or Meat Joints"
 
YOOO first time making butter here and I think I did good but you tell me let simmer on high in crock pot for 2 hours then low for another four hours:weed::fire::leaf::sleep:
After that i put in the fridge over night most of the water froze and the butter seperated but was stuck to that big ass pile uh frozen water took me awhile tp get the cannabutter clean n sexy but i did it tell me waht u think on color and all dat is it good ? 1oz mids to one pound butter.
