I'm a week and a half ish into flowering my girl, and I'm getting some yellowing/dying of leaves. What do you think is causing it? I've searched around a bit with no luck. Thanks, Lips

flowering plants use less nitrogen and it common for the lower leaves to turn yellow, hower you say thats you are only 1 and a half weeks and in my experience it happens more in the later stages of flowering... i don't know if its the picture but the rest of your plant looks very light green (almost yellow) maybe feed with more nitrogen and it might sort it out.... those bottom leaves are gonners tho imho!!

for the past couple weeks I've been using a very weak dose of Grow Big on her, I have a couple packets of cha ching and open sesame that I was going to start using soon (according to the FF feeding schedule)

It's hard to tell with the warm white CFL's, but she's not yellow in general. This is a better picture, but i've been taking pics with flash off so the color of the lights is drowning otu the plants

I don't think what you're experiencing is all that abnormal. Continue feeding, weaker is better, because the yellowing is a direct indicator of the plant moving nitrogen to where it needs it most, where it's got new growth going.

thanks Sea, I know that plants get nitrogen def's as they flower, but I thought it started in the later stages of flowering which is what was worrying me, but I will just keep my eye on her =D.

Couple of things may cause that, for 1 its in flower and using its stores of nitrogen in the leaf to feed itself. 2nd is the fact that you are using CFL, which has low foliage penetration factors. Those bottom leaves do not see as much light as the tops of the plants and are nearly useless as food factories(Hard to photosynthesize), so plant decides to suck em dry and use its top leaves to make the food. HPS lights have a nice penetrating light and still you will see some dead, dying, yellow leaves at the bottom. the rest of your plant looks great so I don't think its much to worry about.

seamaiden and nodrama are on the money as usual. my bottom leaves always start to yellow in the first 1-2 weeks of flowering and if do not increase her nitrogen for that time, they will yellow all the way to the top. so I usually kick it up a bit ans I always feed max 1/2 strength, along with upping the P & K to keep in balance around 1000 ppm and when it slows I will dropp the nitrogen down and than out towards the end. and using 400 and 600 hps. I have had both ends of the spectrum with nitrogen deficiency and nitrogen toxicicty. just always watch your PH escpecially in flowering.
