What's the best soil to start seeds in?

The reason I ask if that I have used ffof to start seeds in and had no problems straight out of the bag. On the other hand I re-used some ffof soil and some of my seedlings didn't make it, they turned brown and died.

I'm paranoid about my next grow because I don't want anything to go wrong with my beans.

Would jiffy pucks do fine? Some people say to remove the netting but I've never had problems doing clones in them and leaving the netting on.

Thanks

any garden variety seed starter mix will suffice. btw the jiffy pots are super easy and cheap. i never had any problems with them. but the are more for soil application.

I use FFOF straight out of the bag. 100% success and I do not feed them for about 3 weeks. I also go from party cups to 3 gal containers.
If you have a Sativa use Happy frog from Fox Farm. Sativa's are way more sensitive to nutrients

Yes they do.. I just finished my Pineapple express, Osiris, and kannabia special crop. All FFOF soil all they way. Strains that are sativa dominant and non hybrid you should play it safe.

ffof is a pretty good soil but its mixed a little hot. ph levels in the high 7s are pretty common. i use a 2 cubic ft bag of happy frog per 1.5 cf bag of ffof. then i add to that total mix about 30% worm castings and another 20-30% perlite. this is a great mix for me.
