What's the big deal with canna coco?

I'm on a soil grow, got clones sitting under a 250hps in soil and perlite and feeding baby bio and tomato feed, I need transplant soon and have seen the coco stuff about, is it for hydro?
I'm a little lost so any help would be great, thanks
