what's the shortest veg cycle you've done?

just curious as to what the shortest veg cycle anyones done and had a pretty decent harvest.

Some people do 12/12 grows where they will start with 12/12 and keep it from seed. It allows even the worst micro grower to leave a plant non-manipulated and still have a sizable plant to boot.

So basically 0 veg time would be the shortest. I mean these plants still have a veg time, but it theoretically only lasts for two weeks and you can sex by 15-21.

Maybe my somewhat limited observation is wrong, but I think Indica needs a little more vegging than Sativa dominant. You can certainly get away with zero vegging, but the plants will probably be much shorter and produce less. It is hard to calibrate your veg time precisely to get the exact height you want. Many people say to switch to 12 hour when the plant is roughly one third of the size you want it to grow. Good luck on getting Sativa dominant types to stop growing. While they do slow down after the initial flowering stretch, some strains never want to stop. This means I usually end up tying the top down and growing it horizontally. Growing multiple strains complicates the logistics of your grow room.

give the plants at least 2 weeks of veg to grow and get a good base of roots established before going to 12/12

hrmm, what is the difference between starting 12/12 from seed, and autoflowering?

aren't you basically doing the same thing in both scenarios?

i use 18/6 for my autoflower all the way through i just switch the nutes after 3 weeks of vegging

I veg a minimum of 28 days for a fat harvest.
